Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I feel like I'm resurrecting something here, but the album was number 9 on the UK Albums Chart for a while, and "Nile Song" was released as a single. It's also been covered about three notable times since 1986. I feel this one seems the most notable of those three. I certainly wouldn't call it "Kinda Hard", especially in the '60s. I think I can count the heavier songs from the '60s on my fingers.

Well, with a few exceptions it tends to just skim the surface, I can't be arsed doing the legwork so stolide can search things out himself.

Should Acid Bath really be pinned down? i never could bring myself to saying "Acid Bath is...<insert metal subgenre>." The bands that were formed in its wake now...Eye Hate God, Soilent Green, Crowbar...they're pinnable.
i've never heard of mathcore. Definitely will check into that.

Thanks JCC. That's far more than I expect or needed. I doubt I will ever listen to all of them, but most of them eventually...

Felreaper, you might want to check out SHRUM as well. It was Audie Pitre's (bass player for AB) side project which used only two distorted bass guitars and drums. Unfortunately, he and his family was killed by a drunk driver so there are only a handful of SHRUM songs available.

I'll definitely check that out when I get home, I can't get on Myspace at school and Pandora doesn't have them listed. Thanks for the recommendation!

I is black metal? I wish. Never before has "black 'n roll" bored me so. It's just like Isahn and Quorthon; they're seen as black metal by association. Quorthon had some really weird grunge stuff going on too. How'd he get away with it?

I cant wait to see Nightwish in NYC soon....I just need to get people together for a hotel
Im not a huge metalhead, but I am always up for new music and I love concerts and festivals.

Are you preparing to be flamed because you know you're wrong?
Nightwish is vintage.

I never said I was a metalhead. So it makes no difference
And I wouldn't categorize myself into one musical genre anyways.

I think having an extensive knowledge of metal makes someone a metalhead.
So you're still more of a metalhead than Sanguine Mind is.
Have you heard of Emperor, Peccatum or Ihsahn? Emperor pretty much founded symphonic metal.

By doing what? Saying that Sabbath and Zeppelin did Metal?
If you think speaking t3h truth is trolling, you've a very bizarre grasp of the concept.
