SF peeps, roll call yo!

Figured that would be -just- irritating enough to get your attention!

*grins*

This lowly canuck is going to be visiting San Francisco in late August. I'm curious, just how many of you are from there?

Now, I've scooted all over the internet, searching high and low for interesting things to do while there, but I thought maybe I'd get it from the horse's mouth.

What's fabulous in SF? Tell me a secret. What's the one thing you wish everybody knew about? What's totally underrated? Who should I stalk? I mean, nothing...

And for the love of everything that's dark and holy, where can I get a good cup of coffee? I'm used to that hippy, shade-grown, organic shit...

Oh... and sushi... honest to gawd, please don't let me have bad sushi...

Ideas? Thoughts? Comments? Bueller?

(Incidentally, I'll be located downtown for the duration of my stay)

Holy Fucking Hell Batman!!!!!!

My eyes must be deceiving me..

Is it really you?

By the way Portland is only 6 hrs from SF.

*hint hint*

All that money we spent on the Psychic Friends Network must have paid off. We have been trying to locate you like mad for awhile now.

Check your pm's.

Oh and keep your arms and legs within the Gnet Vehicle at all times.

Trust me.

Now that I'm *ahem* satisfied, it's nice to meet you Agwani. You're a hell of a smart sexy one, from what I hear.

I was raised and born in San Francisco so I know the city a bit well.

Go to the Legion Of Honour. It is a museum that is modeled after the Legion Of Honour in France. It's a really beautiful place and in the morning it is surrounded by fog, which makes it look really spooky. Outside of it there is The Thinker statue by Rodin, which is one of the originals that he cast. Inside there are some really great paintings. The last time I went there, about five years ago, they had some really cool 18th century clothes there that were neat to look at. Specifically I remember a huge portrait of a Regency era English lord that I stared at for a half hour because the guy was really gorgeous. *sigh*

Another cool place to fo to, which is sort of close, are the ruins of the Sutro Baths. At the turn of the century, through the 1940's, there were large indoor salt water swimming pools. They burned down in a fire and the foundations are still there. It's pretty spooky when it is foggy and you can walk along them.

Golden Gate Park is really fun to explore. Especially the arboretum. You could specd a whole day at the park and never see half of it.

The usual tourist haunts, Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39, are really overrated. They are full of tourists. Also, Haight Street(ex hippy capitol) is now boring. The last time I went there,2002, was really sad. The shops carry overpriced vintage clothes and there are a multitude of obnoxious gutter punks who will try to start shit with anybody who looks ‘different’. They are just pissed off because they ran away from home and ended up in a neighborhood that turned yuppie.

*says hi to Agwani*

From what i'm guessing, there's a freak here who keeps on getting new user names and is posting up the randomest and most ignorant stuff i've ever seen, just to piss people off.

About SF.......
Enjoy the earthquakes?
Apparently there's a really good Subway restaraunt near the train station, but that's according to my mum, and she visited SF 20 years ago, so it might not be there anymore.

Well, there's one that's getting all the current attention, and i don't know what this site used to be like, but is sounded like it used to be excellent. It's changed in the month since i discovered this site, and the poetry thread has vanished.......
