Greetings

Greetings.
I'm Ms. Crowbar. I have to say, after browsing the introductions threads and seeing some of the responses, I'm almost afraid to be truthful about my tastes in literature and music.
But, however, I shall tell you a few details about myself.

1. What do you do?
I write novels (Which are yet to get published)

2. Where are you from?
Bonnie Scotland

3. Who is your favorite author?
That's a hard one. I don't know.

4. What are your favorite films?
Well, I get a good laugh out of "The Craft" because it's so inaccurate.
I also enjoy watching a few horror movies such as "Wickerman" (The original, not the bad remake with Nick Cage) and "The Grudge" (Japanese version. Scares the shit out of me.)

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I don't know. I'm not even sure that I want to get married. My relationships don't last long enough.

6. At your funeral?
Something that will remind people of me. Don't know many songs that do that.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
If I had a choice, I'd say a bullet to the head. Quick and painless.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
A black one with a white inside.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
My holey jeans, my black stilleto boots and my corset which I altered by sewing (SP?) straps and sleeves onto it.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Don't really know.

11. What's your favorite band?
I'll probably get flamed for this, but I like Lordi, amongst other bands such as Evanescence, Atreyu, KISS, Nightwish (Their old stuff with Tarja. Don't like their new stuff too much), Within Temptation, Kwan, Flogging Molly, Faith And The Muse, Inkubus Sukkubus.... You get the idea.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I have 3 Highers and 2 Adavnced Highers. The three Highers are English, Music and Art. The two Advanced Highers are Biology and Modern Studies.

13. Why did you join?
I wanted a place to go to where I could talk to people with similar interests without getting bashed by Chavs and Neds.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
I'm female.

Thanks, Underwater Ophelia.
I guess I should be glad that you're not yelling at me for any of my answers. I've seen some of your posts in other people's threads. Do they piss you off or something?

When will people realize that Bob Dylan was just as produced and marketed for fame as Britney?

Never, because he wasn't. Bob Dylan got a lot of flak from his own fans for the radical direction he went in with using a completely electric band and creating Folk Rock. That he was marketed is obvious, but he wasn't just a corporate puppet and he is also one of the greatest musicians of all time.

I have to disagree. As gravelly and harsh as his voice is, it's always on key. He does things with his voice that many with such deep voices cannot. Also it is always perfectly expressive of the emotions he's putting forth in each song.

However, I can understand why some don't like his voice.

But even looking past his vocals, his lyrics are heartfelt and witty, and the musical soundscapes are incredible. He mixes many genres and actually pulls it off.

Tom Waits has the most fucking hardcore voice in the history of music. If his voice were a person and it heard you talking shit like that, it would kick down your door, seduce you, knock you up, blow you away with a sawed off shotgun that it wields in one hand, then rip the fetus from your dying womb and eat it. That's how hardcore Tom Waits' voice is.

Well, I get a good laugh out of "The Craft" because it's so inaccurate.
The creators of "The Craft" were forced take some artistic liberties in their depiction of witchcraft as practiced by high school students. They were unfortunately limited by their desire to create an entertaining movie that people would want to watch, which goal would have been difficult to accomplish had they produced a film about lonely, obese young women who wear black lipstick and pentacle necklaces in an attempt to agitate their Christian parents.

I'd say that's a perfectly accurate description. One of the best I've read, truth be told.

Joker, I don't mean fucking Linkin Park alternative, I mean PJ Harvey being a woman who has the balls (proverbially) to do something different.
