Coming back.

I joined almost a year ago and then vanished until now. I think it warrants a new introduction, because I've changed so much since then. Hurr.

1. What do you do?
-I volunteer at animal shelters and adoption centers. No job yet.

2. Where are you from?
-California. San Francisco Bay Area, more specifically.

3. Who is your favorite author?
-Still trying to figure that out, honestly. I like Neil Gaiman a lot. I've been reading a lot of non-fiction lately, though.

4. What are your favorite films?
-Das Kabinett des Doktor Caligari, Eraserhead, classic Disney (YES), and Akira

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
-None. I also don't want a wedding. SO.

6. At your funeral?
-I don't want a depressing funeral service. I want my friends to have a party. It's easy to say that and disregard them being sad, but it's true. A funeral would be boring anyway.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
-Old, but with the physical and mental qualities of the young. I'm afraid of old age. I kind of want to be able to self-destruct.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
-A burning one.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
-Navy medic shirt, cadet cap, pants tucked into boots, green German military jacket.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
-Running back and forth in front of my house and not feeling embarrassed about it. No responsibilities, except for taking care of animals, which I still do anyway.

11. What's your favorite band?
-Skinny Puppy. Lately I've been listening to a whole lot of Weimar era cabaret music. A friend got me into Threepenny Opera and Lotte Lenya.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
-Graduated high school. I want to go to art school, not to get an art job, but for my own benefit. I also want to be a vet tech, though. More animal jobs!

13. Why did you join?
-I joined a year ago after stumbling onto this forum and joined on a whim. My less-than-triumphant return is for similar reasons, I guess.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
-Male.

I draw a lot and live in a transitional housing program because I'm homeless. Not... very fun, but it works.

Caligari, cool. Reminds me of college when we had to write a score for the film. Pretty cool project actually. Anyway, good film.

That sounds fascinating. What kind of music did you give it?

Well, it was a class project so there ended up being a bunch of different styles all thrown together (basically, everyone in the class was given a section of film to score, some people, such as myself ended up doing more than one piece as a lot of the class were lazy fuckers and didn't complete their sections). Some of them worked, some of them didn't but it was interesting to hear it all put together.

You should go for it, it's fun to do. One of the most enjoyable projects I did on that course actually.

That's incredible. I don't suppose it's anywhere on the internet, huh? It'd be neat to hear it.

I honestly don't know if it's on the net. It's possible. I'll have a look round and see if I can find my copy of it anywhere. It was certainly an interesting project, my own pieces were decidedly....creepy. I'd love to do the whole thing again by myself though.

You should do it. It's always neat to see different people's take on what the music would be like. If you do, I'd like to hear it.

What kind of software do you use? I admittedly don't know much about it at all. I should, because my father's crazy about music, but I don't. Ahah...

I use whatever I can get my hands on really. I'm quite good with Cubase, that said I would love to get my paws on Logic, I just don't have a mac to run it on . I used to have a great time playing around with samples and the like but my pc crashed badly and I lost everything I was working on and just never got round to reinstalling and starting again.
