wierd stuff

Don't know what to serve on the side at your next party? want to get some goth points ?
How about black boiled eggs that have a slight taste of sulfur and iron.
How cool would it be if they came from a place called "Valley of Hell"

Well here is the link to the Black Eggs of Owakudani

Yesterday I heard an interesting story. Supposedly a true story.

A woman was in her apartment, when she heard an explosion. She assumed that a bomb had gone off in her building, so she ran for her life. Outside she realized that it hadn't been her building that exploded. She also realized that her baby was still inside. As she had saved her own life, she had forgotten all about that maggot.

I just finished watching the show Powers a couple days ago. It was a really silly show, but Michael Madsen really made the second season shine. His performance as a demented superhero was top notch.
There were some interesting threads left hanging by the end of the show, like,
I really liked the new coroner character who was really featured only in the second to last episode, it was sort of a shame we didn’t get to see more of her.
And they also introduced in that same episode the goth superhero. She was called something like the Necrotic Queen or something, and she was already dead when they found her, but her dead flesh exploded into the mouth of one of the lead characters, and apparently she might have been turning into the next Necrotic Queen or something.
It was a silly, silly show.
It was the right call to end the series after that season though, because there was no way they could have made it half as good without Michael Madsen who most likely wouldn’t have joined for another season.

Also, I got a dejavu/flashback type of thing today, where I recalled a dream from years ago, in which I had been posting on this Gothic Net forum. Not sure if I ever actually had that dream, or if it was just some "wierd" brain chemical fluke, but I'm leaning on the former.

Here's a brilliant quote for the day. I have no idea who said it.

"Before you diagnose yourself with depression and low self esteem, make sure that you're not in fact surrounded by assholes."

Sometimes I wonder if most views on this forum aren't even real views, that it's just the bots going blindly through these threads...

You know the bots. Almost every day new bots join this forum. Their random usernames usually have four digits at the end. Like our latest member, janesssifta7725

We are overrun by them. Mankind has fallen. Skynet has won.

It's been a while since Chris Morey's last post. I'm starting to miss his spam. I think Dark Region newsletters have been going out without interruption, though. I wonder what's up with that...

If a cyclops is of the Siamese twin variety, does it any longer make sense to call him a cyclops?

Serious question.

Random musings on the moment

You know the crazy cat?

He has zero empathy.

Well, not really zero, since he does recognize me as another living being, which, even if it isn't readily apparent, does require a very rudimentary amount of empathy.

But he's still a very self-centered son-of-a-bitch.

I may also be haunted by a noise right now. It's hard to be sure though, since the noise is fleeting, vague, and hard to catch or pinpoint.

Here's a poignant comic on the topic of empathy:
