I just read this thread, and I've gotta say, you not only post like you're a wannabe /b/tard but also clearly lack the ability to tell when anyone is making a sarcastic or exaggerated comment at your expense, or if you can tell, you take your faked ignorance too far.
As for the thread's topic, I consider myself to be more of a metalhead than a goth, as I've been into metal longer than goth rock/lit. Overall though, I have to say that I agree with the above posters that the whole question is a moot point since everybody has a different definition of what Goth is and of who they are, which is perfectly within Goth 'norms' (if you could call them that).
In summary, I'm a Headbanger-Goth (or whatever other stupid label you wanna put on it.

First off, I'd like to say that Metallica hasn't been decent since the black album, let alone great (MoP), so the fact that you're quoting possibly the best song off of the worst Metallica album (IMO) doesn't say much for your actual knowledge of or taste for Metal to me.
My favorite Metal bands are Megadeth, Death, Morbid Angel, Nile, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Sodom, and Candlemass.

I'm sorry, but you clearly just don't know jack shit about real metal. Listen kiddo, I just wrote my senior project paper about the entire history of heavy metal and have been in two heavy metal bands for the last two years, I think I know my shit. Just because you don't know any Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal (besides Metallica), Doom Metal, or Classic Metal doesn't mean you get the right to call me a non-metalhead. Hell, half the bands I named are Metallica's PRIMARY INFLUENCES (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, even Megadeth). You know what? Fuck this. *Ignored*
