Speaking of The Little Mermaid, what about Ursula? You've got this character who just oozes grotesque mature sexuality - an older, white-haired, heavily made up woman with tits that look like she'll motor-boat you to death if you piss her off. She also has grotesque proxy phallusses (phalli??) in her pet eels, and those tentacles that'd probably have made her the crush of all future hentai fans if she weren't such a hag. And she uses the former as aids in her ultimate goal of taking down Poseidon the patriarch, before finally getting her come-uppance in the form of a penetrative stab wound from the patriarch's successor in his daughter's affections. That's some oedipal shit, right there.

The best part is Ursula is based off the drag queen Divine.

Legit, they totally based her design on Divine. I think that's also why she's got a deep voice.
What's hilarious about this is that there's a lot of fundamentalists who think that Disney has a gay agenda, they're going to turn your kids gay. They jump on the littlest thing, like Scar being too effeminate. But they haven't realized that Ursula is a drag queen.
There was a critique we read in class that was saying that Disney villainnesses are deeply sexual, but I don't think that holds water when it comes to Maleficent or Lady Tremaine. They do tend to be widows or spinsters though, don't they? I think they also kinda address that with Frollo blaming Esmeralda for bewitching him.

Re: Maleficent - I dunno, it's been years since I saw the film, but if I remember right she's kind of dominatrix-esque when you see her stroking her 'pet', the crow. And also commands hordes of goblin-like mignons. Imagine that get-up made out of latex.

Yeah but she was really based off the actress that did her voice, who also voiced Lady Tremaine in Cinderella.

Also I've seen women in burkas with more shape that she does. My prof also thinks that because her clothes have some purple, Disney again takes a stab at nobility, indirectly. Most of his heroines may be royalty by birth but have humble beginnings and circumstances, Snow White slaves away like a peasant girl, Cinderella slaves away, Aurora lives as a peasant...
Plus, a woman wielding the powers of hell does not mean erotic XD

I think I've seen slutty Maleficent artwork. I'd question whether even an evil fairy showing only her face and hands can ever escape objectification, but then again deviant art is also home to Gargoyles porn and Beckett from Vampire: The Masquerade making out with a unicorn.
I had a really bad weekend so I'm just curling up with some nachoes and reading Reasoning With Vampires. Chick should get this shit published. I'd even buy the original book so I can laugh with her.

I was actually youtubing Sleeping Beauty to see if there was anything sexually objectifiable about Maleficent while my friend was making dinner last night. He came back in during the scene where she kicks off at her goblin army after finding out the dolts have been looking for a baby for fifteen years.
Just as I was starting to think that actually, she isn't especially sexualised as it stand and I'm just an unwitting collaberator with the more insidious forces of patriarchy and all-around shitty feminist, my friend re-enters while she's stroking her crow and giving it her orders. He peers at the screen, takes a drag on the joint, then points and goes, "I know I haven't gotten me leg over in a while, but is it wrong to wanna be that crow right now?"

A few of my more fetish-oriented male friends have dominatrix fantasies that lead them to see pretty much any powerful female in that light - especially when you get things like the head-stroking (*have just resolved to be less of a 14 year old boy - must - not - snicker -*) of mignons.
