Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

The Bela Lugosi's Dead Thread
What's your opinion on it should you have one? I like it more than I used to!

It's become something of a Goth cliche.

It's ok. A nice little ditty.
Funnily enough, I was in Forbidden Planet (London) a few weeks ago and I heard it playing on the in-store PA system!

It's a nice song, but it's a cliche. It's to Death Rock, as Smoke in the water is to Hard Rock.

Sadly, a lot of old Goth songs have probably become cliches of themselves!...
She Sells Sanctuary
Lucerita My Reflection
Preacher Man
Etc, etc, etc...
You know you're getting old when you hear Moonchild being played on BBC Radio 2!

I can probably count on one hand how many times I've listened to it all the way through. Bauhaus has far better stuff.

On-topic, though, I think BLD is a fun sort of song, good for when you're feeling cheesy or wish the first 20 minutes of The Hunger would last the whole movie. I also like to hum it when I'm at the Cinnabon counter.

It is Friday, and I'm in love, however for the time being it's forbidden.

I love covers of this song, even more than the original. Electric Hellfire Club's is my favorite.

M friend who I was LEAST likely to think liked this song (he's my best friend, and I never would have brought them up becuase it's just one of those bands I thought we'd fight about) had this song up on youtube the other day and I almost died laughing. It was great. He's into Mod/s.h.a.r.p. music, mostly.

I think it's a classic, not a cliche.
And I still can't get enough of it.
BTW, I think Friday I'm in Love is one of the worst Cure songs, and I am a fan of the Cure.
