If a court case was completely on logic and not on how Machiavellian one is, she'd stand nothing to use. However, I'd liken this to being a poker player; the more cards you can keep hidden, the better.

I hate my stupid short chubby fingers. They make everything a pain in the ass. Contact juggling? Fingers are short, so I have to get smaller balls. Knitting? Weaving ends back in with stripes is a pain in the ass. Gloves? Don't make me laugh. I can't make a metal Freddy Krueger glove (purely for fun, I promise), because I can't find any brown gloves to fit my kid-sized hands. And I can't order ANY gloves online, because either kid-size is too tight or adult-size leaves a few centimeters of extra cloth at my fingertips. Fingerless gloves are cool and all, but I'd like to have some nice normal gloves. Without having to special-order or something. Because I don't have much money. Oh, and Mom thinks it's cute and funny to tease me about it. I know she's not being mean or anything, and I end up smiling through it, but. . . urgh, I just want to storm out of the room like a little brat whenever she does it. And no matter how many times I hint it (or spell it out pretty bluntly), she doesn't stop.

Oh, and my nails are brittle and chip. And get all wonky whenever I use nail polish removers, no matter how 'gentle' they are. I give up on painting my nails. At all. Besides, it just draws attention to the short little chub-chubs. Urrrrrgh.

In really fucked up news, some collection agency/scam artists out of California have been calling my ex-wife about some unknown thing. I moved to Texas ten years ago and haven't seen her since. She got a different number (one I don't have) about five years ago. I have my contact info all over the place (in resumes online, utility bills, car registration and drivers license, etc.) and they could have contacted me easily. But they've been calling her sporadically for a couple of years now and I just found out about it last night.

They keep threatening that if she doesn't get me to call them back, the sheriff is going to show up at my door to arrest me. This would be funny if they hadn't successfully scared the crap out of her. So I've got to call them today to figure out what the hell they want and how to get them to stop calling her.

I looked them up online and there are many, many complaints about them using these same tactics, better business reports against them that they never answered, at least one current court case against them and an attorney that is organizing a class action lawsuit against them. So I'm doing a little research before I call these "people" so I can get this crap resolved.

Ben, I had to deal with collections before, they really aren't fun -_-* I owed them a couple hundred dollars once, but when they started calling me I was unemployed so it was pretty useless for them to call me. They have no right to threaten to arrest you or anything. I know its their job but damn sometimes they're way too aggressive. When I did get a job I requested for someone else to get my file before I paid back, I didn't want someone who caused me so much misery to get commission out if it.

Well, and there's a possibility that this is a collection effort for a $4000 debt that I should not have to pay to a cellular carrier. I had two bill cycles where all my "mobile to mobile" and "night & weekend" calls were billed against my peak minute allowance even though they should have been free under my plan. I got several representatives of the company to acknowledge that the billing system made an error, but I could never get anyone to do better than offer to credit back $1200 of the overage. I have the billing statements to prove it.

So, on legal advice, I've dealt with each collection agency that gets the account by asking them to please take me to court so I can show my billing statements to a judge and get this dismissed. They hang up, and don't call back. Then I contact the credit reporting agencies to get it removed from my record and then wait until another collection agency gets the account. I beg them to take me to court ... so far, no takers. I wonder if it's that bill these people are calling about?

Also, I note that this company uses illegal intimidation tactics, calling family members with these threatening calls to try to put the squeeze on you to pay. Think I'm going to have to get the state attorney general's contact info. I'm going to print up my credit reports before I call them so I'm prepared.

Unless you're applying for the military, an intelligence agency, or the police, I can't see why anyone would need such a record.

Oddly enough the only time I ever dealt with a collections agent it was a fairly positive experience, they actually were able to help me figure out what was going on with Cox (which I think I finally have resolved, nearly 10 months later).


On to my own rant: I'm really not a morning person, I just can't seem to get to bed early, I'm just not tired at this time. I can't wait until the end of the week, it looks like I'll be on the afternoon shift once my week of training is all done.

Yep. Get a second opinion. Or reconsider the career track.

Your outlook on people as reflected in the body of your posts here generally supports that diagnosis, by the way. But I think that would apply to a lot of people here. It actually appears to be a "condition" that sounds more serious than it is. Many people don't like most other humans because of their behavior; it doesn't mean they don't function fine in society.

Everything's gotta be a condition, doesn't it? I think it should be mandatory that any employer looking at applications does at least a cursory check on what different terms mean, so they don't think it's more serious than it really is. Maybe they do, I dunno. But best of luck to you getting that second opinion.

Deadman spams Gnet for over a month, but Mommy-Daddy Admin only steps in when a few other Gnet members post a few silly pictures on BlueBlood. Our threads are deleted and we're banned from BlueBlood, while Deadman gets a slap on the wrist. Why is it that Admin only steps in to harass people for ridiculous reasons? Duckman never made any posts that even compared to the bullshit Deadman's been posting, and we all know how many times Duck's been banned.

We have no control over their admin policy. They were to harsh for your taste? Leave them alone then.

Deadman wasn't really in violation of OUR policy. Posting articles you don't happen to agree with is different from making fake accounts on other people's boards and then quoting your own sock puppet here to create drama and anger. Wasn't Duck posting photos of shit here? Or am I confusing that account with someone else you don't think should have been banned?

I imagine she'll eventually stand in a courtroom and say "my former employers implied [a, b, and c] and it wasn't true". As I'm certain said former employers already know to which accusations she takes offense, I don't see what possible negative ramifications could emerge from posting them here.

No they were different articles that originated from other areas around the net which were linked from prison planet or infowars.

That is why I would often post a second link to the same article (Which as I take it was the actual source info) so the reader knows where it's coming from.

You know, I honestly take straight-up offense to the idea that those were fake accounts. We used our names here, we used our avatars. I linked my website in the profile. Don't you think if we were planning to troll it would've been a better idea to use ACTUAL fake names for our "fake" accounts?

My previous thread wasn't breaking any rules and you deleted it, nor were my posts. I just held an opinion you didn't like.

Meanwhile, Deadman was spamming to the point that an ENTIRE PAGE in the SN forum was taken up with NOTHING BUT copypasta infowars articles. It was completely out of line and shitted up these forums way worse than a single response to a flame.

The entire community agrees that he's spamming. I've NEVER SEEN such a consensus on gnet, and yet you're ignoring it.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy you finally said something, I'm disappointed it was over "plagiarism" (because it's not plagiarism, he's reposting, not claiming he wrote the articles) but it's bordering on too little too late.

I'm also happy you're finally engaging the community in something resembling a dialogue.

I guess baby steps?
