I seem to be a magnet for the middle aged and elderly .
I've just been chatted up at my friend's wedding reception , by the 50+ year old man who was in the live band on keyboards. He said my shoes were sexy and he'd like to see me dancing
The other week an octogenarian who walked very much like Charlie Chaplin and had the face of a champion gurner, asked me to come round his house for tea because his wife had died a while ago and he was lonely. It was sweet and creepy all at the same time.

See, there's the advantage to looking like a nine year old boy, old guys just want to tell me war stories.
Unless they're eerily into young people. When I was a bartender there was this creepy old guy who just kept calling me "little girl" and took every opportunity to touch me (like put his arm around me).

Touching is even worse... the people who have to make physical contact with you whether it be touching your hand, stroking, etc. I've noticed this is mainly an east coast thing. It really bugs me. When people hand me things, I prefer they just drop it in my hand, but a lot of people will touch your hand, even grab it with the other!! Makes me want to carry around a bottle of sanitizer. What's worse? the old people who have scabs and cuts and stuff all over their hands ):
Or what about hygiene? what is with people who genuinely reek and do not realize it? I mean seriously? is my body language not enough of a hint?; leaning waaaay back, holding my breath, coughing, making faces?
what is so wrong with deodorant and showers?

I dislike being hit on by older women, like in their late 40's early 50's (It just strikes me as creepy as all hell, and is another reason I avoid bars these days).
My cousin's ex-wife (I'm guessing at this point) seemed to like me a little too much and started asking if she could move in with me at the old home place, now if she was in her mid 20's early thirties, looked even half way decent, had all of her teeth, and didn't smell like a barrel of sourmash 24/7 I might have taken her up on the offer.
Damn I'm glad they left when they did.

I hope she doesn't work in a nursing home.. such a caustic, passive aggressive person should never be around people's grand mothers.

The trouble with life is that we are all getting older, every second.
So today you are 20 something with a ton of attitude about old people, and in 40 years, you are that old person, getting a ton of attitude from some 20 year old who thinks they know everything.

^ I honestly didn't have an attitude about older people when I was 20. I've always had more of a problem with my peers.
ape: I have to agree.

HA! I actually did my clinicals in a nursing home and LOVED it. Elderly in nursing homes are the cleanest people you'll ever meet, and there's hand sanitizer everywhere. Plus, if its for work's sake, I can do anything.

I know. (:
Or perhaps I'm just opinionated and not afraid to say it?
Perhaps I just don't let people walk all over me?
perhaps I have standards?
perhaps I believe in hygiene?

What argument is there to be had? I'm not going to debate the merits of being socially outgoing with you.

I think you just choose arguments you can win and when you start to lose you start to call others names, or ignore their posts.

I still don't feel like I've gotten an answer to my question..
Here, let me restate it:
Lenore, where are you encountering unbathed, sore-covered old people on a great and general daily basis? O_o
