Justice League: War and Wonder Woman 2009 animated movie

Watch these. They're amazing. Especially if you like Wonder Woman. She was totally badass in JL: War.

I actually dislike the WW animated movie, it really ruined Steve Trevor for me. He's a creep, and I think that's what they're doing with Orion in her current run. Pairing the feminist idol with a chauvinist and they learn to compromise makes me gag.

I caught that. I don't know much about WW and her supporting cast, but I did find that guy to be... weird.

I was constantly wondering why she opted to show patience and compassion for his idiocy.

Overall, I thought it was an exciting animation. It was much more interesting when it was just WW and her army fighting Ares and shit.

Yeah, otherwise it was a great film (though personally the Ares/Hippolyta thing was also gross, I think in the comics they're related. Plus no one will ever convince me Hippolyta isn't a lesbian.)

It sucks too that its probably the only Wonder Woman film we'll get for a long time. DC is making no plans for a Wonder Woman show or movie, and the animated studio said they'll never make a Wonder Woman stand alone film ever again either.

Now you see, I think that is just weird. She's a part of the big three in DC and as I understand it, her comics sell well enough. They have Gal Gadot playing WW in the upcoming Supes vs. Batman movie and MAYBE she might be able to have enough charisma to make WB change their minds. Then again, I constantly read about WB and DC being terribly out of touch with their fan base.

Her comics are generally a solid mid-tier book, which is pretty good considering they don't really push her book much. Actually you might be amused to know that not only is Harley Quinn the top selling female solo book, but the only DC solo book outselling her right now is Batman. (source: http://www.diamondcomics.com/Home/1/...ticleID=148626)

DC (and WB) don't know what to do with Wonder Woman and I think a big problem is that its run by a bunch of middle aged cis men who can't write women for shit. Azzarello's run has been good at times, but there was only one moment when she defeated Hades where I actually thought "this is quintessential Wonder Woman." Right now they think she needs to be straight and dating Superman and be absolutely bloodthirsty to be relevant.

Did you hear about David Goyer, one of the writers for BVS and Justice League calling She-Hulk a "giant green pornstar" who was just created for someone for the Hulk to fuck? http://www.themarysue.com/david-goye...k-sex-fantasy/ I have very little faith he can write a good Wonder Woman.

In happier news though, they recently announced an out of continuity Wonder Woman series that will be an anthology, and feature many women creators. Since her inception, she has only been written by five different women. The first arc is being done by Gail Simone: http://www.themarysue.com/new-wonder-woman-series/

I dropped all my DC titles but I'll totally be picking that one up.
