Gothic Wedding

Okay, I haven't been here in a few months. But I've been really busy, lol. I have gotten engaged and am getting married this next year. But I need some suggestions for my dress. I want to buy a really pretty Corset for the top (I cant spend allot on it though) and I have a very Full Petticoat (hoop style) for the bottom. So I REALLY want a ball Gown skirt and Corset top. Any Suggestions for putting this together? Any helpful sites?? I am really confused on trying to make this dress. My colors are Black and Magenta.

I have been there tons of times, but they're WAAY expensive. Thanx though. I actually downloaded a few pictures from there, so My mom can get an idea of what type of thing I want.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, you can try making it yourself, but I don't know how well you sew, so that could very well be a terrible idea.

If I make the skirt, then my mom will sew it. She used to make costumes for a theater group, so she sews very well.

I LOVE that site!!!! The clothes are so pretty!!

I know what u're going through. Your best bet is to have ur mom sew the gown. I did the same for my wedding. I had a goth wedding. My dress was off-white satin with burgandy embroidery. My cousin sewed my dress. I looked at so many websites and images that my head hurt. So , ur best bet is to research. If i weren't living in a conservative community, i would have worn black...lol...on the other hand, don't think the stuff u see on the net will be better than what u'll do. i worked for 10 months on my dress, it even took me 2 months to get the best hue of velvet burgandy. Make sure that all the colors are interrelated. Believe me! Always keep a sample of the fabric u're using, if u need to get any other color or fabric for the dress or rhinestones. Make sure, u have a fitting every time u sew something on, to make sure u like it. I don't mean to give u too much advice but i've been through it. Also, select a theme for ur gown. What i mean by theme is; for example my dress had burgandy embroidery and two big velvet roses on the side, on the back of the dress, i had velvet rose petals cut out and stuck to the train of the dress as if they were shattered. Make sure the "plastic bone" of the corset, is burnt before being stitched in so that it won't create a bump when u sit. I have lots of experience sewing and making gowns. If you need anything, pm me. I'll be more than happy to help u. Congrats btw.
