Devising a way to craft my tail.

As the Wyvern, people who are familiar with the idea often ask me, where's your tail then?

This has put my mind in unsatisfaction until my next task is complete. I plan to try and form a way into making a tail and NOT just ANY tail. I want to create a tail that can swing around with a subtle press of a button, trigger or lever.

*It has to be light enough to walk around in.
*Preferably standing upright most the time so it doesn't drag on the ground or get in peoples way, I'm thinking something that looks like a black scorpian tail with dragon scales.
*Don't want it to swing too hard or else it might cause injury to myself or others and might even get my tail confiscated D:

If anyone has any swell ideas on how to craft this i'd appreciate it, until then I guess I'm going to have to invest some time reading up on hydraulic engineering and electronics. :/

Go find a forum about cosplay and ask there. They're the ones you want to talk to about this.

If you're that bothered about accuracy you should cut off a limb.

Articulated tails are damnably hard to make work in any good way. Non articulated ones are easier, but even these usually involve the use of "invisible" nylon strings to hang right, move right and generally not look dead.

Actually, I think it would be wiser to look into robotics.

Who said talking to cosplayers and looking into robotics were separate?

Actually I might be able to hook it with some electrical charges and get it to swing around when I shock it with a press of a button. Kinda like what we did in a science experiment to a dead frog back in high school.

You'd kill a snake so you can look like a moron? Fuck you.

I somehow doubt that our resident wyvern was speaking with any serious intent to follow through with his serpentine hypothetical.

I'd kill a moron if it'd make me look like a snake.
