'Ere Goes . . .

Since I'm new here, let me introduce myself.

I'm me. For the purposes at hand, Mr. D. I live right in the middle of Occupied Amerika. My income is derived from the arts. I specifically do body art, photography, graphic design, some painting and promotion. Yes, I've DJ'd too (hasn't everyone?).

Now on to the interview.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
Outside of work, I like to travel and do very naughty things in foreign places.

2. Where are you from?
I'm originally from SoCal and currently live in the Indian Territory.

3. Who is your favorite author?
H.P. Lovecraft

4. What are your favorite films?
Split, A Clockwork Orange, schloky horror films (like the Italian and Hammer films) and anything with Edward G. Robinson.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Too late.

6. At your funeral?
I don't care. I won't be paying much attention.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Quickly.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
A dirt one so I can get on with it.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
My purple Lip Service trousers, one of three really nice shirts, my beloved leather jacket and boots - OF COURSE!!!

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Not much really. It sucked.

11. What's your favorite band?
Depends on what kind of mood I'm in. It could be Current 93, Ostara, Seraphim Shock, 69 Eyes or Cradle of Filth. I'm a mess.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
BsBA

13. Why did you join?
There was a fun thread sent to me.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Duh.

Well, there it is. Ridicule at will. I've got my asbestos undies on.

Cheers.

D.

He of the Royal We.

That's a shame. Everyone should have the experience. I noticed that you call yourself a nerd. Bravo. I admire that as I am merely competent.

Cheers.

BAH. . . I was replying to the miss who hasn't DJ'd.

Dressed up, messed up, ready to GO!!!

I was born in Newport Beach and lived in Costa Mesa, Indio, Hemet, Beaumont and Banning. Basically all the shitholes of the Inland Empire. The only thing I miss are real mountains. And Frank the Baptist - but even he ran away!

You've moved around as much as I have! I was born in Anaheim and grew up in San Diego, but am now stuck in Atlanta. And now meeting people from SoCal makes me weirdly happy. The mountains and the beach are easily the best parts of California...even better, the fact that you can go to both in one day.

One of our favorite tricks was to meet up right before school and catch the Amtrak at Riverside to San Diego. We'd then take the trolley to TJ and spend the day in wicked debauchery. We'd usually get home just about the time we would had we actually attended class. That and hauling a truckload of snow from Idyllwild down to Palm Springs and throwing snowballs at spring break revellers. I've heard good and bad about Atlanta. Where do you stand?

Haha, the trolley to TJ...oh the fun. And the hangovers.

I've yet to make up my mind about Atlanta. Lots of judgemental assholes, and very little to do. But it's such a pretty place to live, especially if you're into the dark and scary side of things. The graveyards and kudzu and eerie foggy autumn nights do make for an interesting time. I'm quite fond of driving around in the middle of the night getting scared and lost on dark curvy roads. It doesn't compare to 24-hour coffeeshops and midnight bonfires on Ocean Beach, and there certainly isn't an equivalent to X-Sanguine...but I'm making the best of it.

Sorry, I wrote you a novel.

And how is that different from anywhere else? <c>

This is how long I've been away from Cali. When I left, Coven 13 at the El Rey was the happening event and KMET was still rawkin' like Dokken.

Meh.

There's a much higher judgemental ass to normal human ratio in the South. They're more fond of gathering together into one large, judgemental group, and they speak in very annoying accents.

Isn't that the area called the Bible Belt? I would imagine it was so named with good reason.

Indeed it is. The city of Atlanta itself is slowly waking up to the outside world, and not quite as bad as the rest of Georgia. There's a highway that literally makes a circle around the outside of Atlanta, so that large trucks and such can bypass downtown. Everything inside that highway is relatively normal. Everything outside of it is frightening and full of Baptists.

The sad fact is that very few of those people who call themselves followers of Christ know much about either the personality of Christus or the Bible. I find them more ChristShuns than Christians. I've found closed mindedness and ignorance everywhere - granted in varying levels of rabidness. At the same time, I've found open minded intelligent people everywhere as well. It just seems the later are almost always outnumbered by the former.

Cheers.
