It seems unlikely help may be forthcoming, but Hot Topic is a clothing, music and accessories store geared toward the thrash-metal, hard-rock, goth and vampyre scene. I do not know if they are U.S.-based only, but if their location in South Florida is any indication, they cater primarily to the younger crowd (under 30) and to the suburban, frustrated and most-likely parentally-supervised type.
I have to admit, I have found some great industrial music there, however. Try looking up Metropolis Records ... good electronica and industrial sounds.

There's nothing wrong with Hot Topic as long as you don't use it as a primary source of wardrobe replenishment. I go there now and then to get replacement piercing hoops (since the local parlor is further away and more expensive), and once in a while they have a DVD that the local video shop doesn't have, or is out of.

Yeah, Hot Topic is okay for some stuff, wardrobe-wise. I bought a pair of pole-climbers there once a few years ago. The problem is the quality of some of the stuff isn't that great.
Want great goth boots, etc ... try ordering from Strut. Google it and you'll find it. No, I do not have a financial interest in them, they've just got great shoes and boots.

Hot topic is an american shop, which I have never even heard about until coming to this forum, it felt natural to ask a simple question on a discussion board.
