I haven't watched much anime, but the anime I love most is Hellsing. I only wish there were more episodes!

I am totally new at this whole anime thing, so I don't know many. At this moment it would have to be Death Note. I loved it!!! Light and L are the best.

Hm. Will I be shunned if I admit to a strong dislike for anime?

I'm not sure. A Japanese (err.. I think) artist did it but... it was from MTV's late night programming in 94 IIRC.
Same guy did a three parter on gametap's Tomb Raider shorts, and did 'Reign: The Conquerors: Alexander' (Which was flamingly QUEER. Still.. it had moments. I watched, which says something about me.. I'm not sure what.)

I think that's a little like asking someone what their favorite movie or band is.
I liked Serial Experiment Lain and RahXephon. I think this means I like my anime like my movies: Slightly dark, twisted, and with enough imagination to leave me thinking about it for a while.

Battle Angel Alita and VideoGirl Ai .
I want to get a copy of Lain and see again Ghost in the shell . Has been a long-long time since I was "into manga/jap comics" , so I have no idea what's going on ...

I rewatched all of Lain on YouTube, and I think that Cartoon Network is currently playing GITS: Stand Alone Complex.

I watch loads of anime, Haibane-Renmei is my all time favourite. Others include Ghost in the Shell (the series more than the movies), Excel Saga (the manga is better though) and Record of Lodoss War.
I watch a lot of fansubs these days, I'm currently watching Lucky Star and I really can't decide if I like it or not. Still, atleast it's a change of pace from the blood and violence of both Claymore and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai which I've been watching most recently.

Just enlightening on my last post--a few anime series I forgot to mention.
I enjoyed Elfen Lied quite a bit, which is my all-around favorite. I've already established that. Some of my other favorites are as followed:
1) Silent Mobius - I liked the dark, gritty (and supernatural) sci-fi nature of this anime, as I've always enjoyed Kia Asamiya's work. Except Nadesico, which I never got too deeply into.
2) Karin - Cute little vampire comedy. I enjoyed the lightheartedness of it, though that swiftly changed when the series plunged to its finale. Then it got a bit more serious, but then brightened up again at the very last moment.
3) Shingetsutan Tsukihime - Another vampire anime, which I might add was extremely good. It had a nice, fluid storyline and good characters, and an ending that brought tears to my eyes. But that's with any TYPE-MOON series.
4) Fate/Stay Night - Another TYPE-MOON production. I enjoyed the idea of sorcerers and sorceresses summoning the reincarnated spirits of past heroes and villains such as King Arthur and Hercules, all the way to Medusa and Cúchulainn.
5) Tsukuyomi Moonphase - Another cute little vampire anime I picked up. It follows the story of a young vampire girl named Hazuki, who tries to enslave this photographer, but ultimately fails as he's immune to vampiric charms. There's also quite a bit of supernatural action packed into a nicely knit story, and a bit of subtle lolicon love.
6) Seto no Hanayome - A completely random but incredibly hilarious tale about how a boy almost drowns, but is saved by a mermaid. It turns out the mermaid that saved him was the daughter of the boss of the mermaid mafia, and since the boy saw her true form he's forced to marry her, much to her father's dismay.
7) Mahoromatic - Another comedy/ecchi anime I happened to find extremely funny. It's about an android girl who retires from her service to the army, so she can live out her last days as a maid (it's anime, so don't question it). It's got teachers with shota complexes for crying aloud.
8) Nightwalker - A dark, very enjoyable vampire anime about a detective who's a vampire, and has dedicated his immortal life to eliminating all vampiric kind for his own personal reasons.
9) Sola - A very dreamy anime about an undead girl known as a Yaka. It's hard to explain, so I'll leave you to check it out on your own time if you're interested in gaining a better understanding.
10) Shakugan no Shana - A rather good anime about a girl named Shana, who's a spirit-type entity known as a Flame Haze. She joins the main protagonist, Yuji Sakai, who is known as a "Torch." A shell of someone who's dead. It's full of quite a bit of action, a pinch of romance, and plenty of supernatural awesomeness.
Now, those are only a few of the animes I've seen. I've lost count/track of how many series I've actually watched, but those are ten I really enjoyed. Just thought other anime fans here would be interested if they ever need something to watch.

I actually have a few. Death Note is, as stated above, absolutely genius. Then come D Gray Man, Bleach, Naruto, Elfen Lied, and Ayashi No Ceres.

I watched Inuyasha, but i missed a few episodes and fell out of the loop so I gave up.
Fruits bAsket is awesome, and I am watching Nausica right now.

For the fantasy genre I love good ol' fashion Record of Lodoss War. And despite the fact it's based off of a eroge, Fate/stay night is also a goodie. Vision of Escalflowne is a good combination of fantasy and mecha, too.
For mecha Full Metal Panic and its other 2 season do the genre proud. It's a great mix of action, military, and school hijinx with a dash of relationship drama thrown in.
Oh... I can't forget Ghost in a Shell. I love Motoko Kusanagi.
Best Regards,
Neil
