You are completely wrong to think that just because something is dark that it is evil. Only someone with a very narrow veiw of the world would say such a thing.
Then it's a good thing that's not what I said. Usually when people refer to someone's heart being "dark", they mean that they are evil. I. E., the guy who beat the 17-month-old to death had a darkness inside him.

Having darkness inside you doesn't just mean you like skulls, bats, picnics in graveyards and the color black. In fact, someone who is described like that may not like any of those things. They may simply be evil people.

I prefer a dark aesthetic, but I try very hard not to indulge in my dark [i. e., evil, angry, bitter, vengeful, violent] nature.

I use the word 'Dark' to describe all of the things that I like. You are doing exactly what I said, you are likening the word to 'evil', which it is not. I have Drakness in my heart, but I'm not an evil person.

I also see nothing wrong with anger, bitterness, vengeance or violence.

It is how you use those emotions that can make them seem 'evil'.

Nobody I know is gonna refer to that guy as being dark or having a darkness inside him. That is an evil fuck. This is not confusing.

Scrooge had a dark heart. The grinch had a dark heart. J Edger Hoover and Richard Nixon had dark hearts.

Jeffery Dahmer had an evil heart. Not dark, evil. Period.

*edit* - Saya ... OW!

This is such a weird conversation. -_-;;;

I'm making a difference between a dark aesthetic, and someone saying "That man has a lot of darkness inside of him", which, to my understanding, means "That man has a lot of evil inside of him".

A dark aesthetic =/= Evil. having such darkness inside of you that you think nothing of hurting another person = evil.

I don't see a corelation between evil and darkness. If someone said 'that person has darkness in their heart' in front of me I wouldn't think they were talking of evil.

Hearts_purple, I was talking about a different type of darkness. More the darkness that makes people not pleasant.

Ben described it best. scrooge - dark-hearted person - he could make a difference if he wanted to but he doesn't. He lets all the bad things that happened to him, mould him into a grumpy person.

Darkness in the heart could also be considered to be depression.

Evil is different but I can see how some people could use the word darkness for it.

Today I discovered kneeling on soup ladles hurts just as much as a saucepan lid in the face, and it's only 9am.

ROFL. Guano. Very appropriate coming from you, Ms. Bat Hope you've recovered from the toddler beating as well

Today I learned about alternative medicine for horses. Specifically, which elements go with which personality traits, physical looks, and predisposition to illnesses. Not as part of one of my classes, but just a random packet laying on one of the patio tables that someone left behind. I thought about picking one up to devote better time to reading it but then didn't because horses aren't really my 'thing'. Then not even 10 minutes later I run into one of my friends who is a horse nut and regretted not getting the packet because I thought she'd love reading about it

I learned that the Greensboro, North Carolina road painting crew that painted this might want to consider going back to SHCOOL.

Saya, I have had to serve ignorant fools with swastikas and 'white pride' tattoos. It's hard to put your beliefs aside for your paycheck. I hated that.

well I dunno if he actually was, he just really really looked like he could play an SS officer in a WWII movie. He had the hair, the glasses, the Hitler 'stache.

I do hate it when customers actually say stupid things though. Like one woman the other day was talking to a group of us, and was saying "you know what I hate? Women. Can't talk to them." o.O O rly? What are we then?

Maybe it's just that the rest of us don't want to talk to her?

That a guy did a remarkably accurate job of predicting what a wireless smart phone would be like ... 100 YEARS AGO!

Never, ever get distracted while painting... that's all I can say.. I'm not mentioning what caused the distraction.

I also learnt that first gear in my car is friggin' wonderful at 3000rpm and that Mr Bat has a low tolerance to my car dancing.
