Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Hawthorne Heights
Senses Fail
Fall Out Boy
Panic At The Disco
Seeming as emo stands for emotional, listening to pop I guess wouldn't hurt if it went with your emotion(s) at the time.

Ladyfilth; You said it was never anything, when as a matter of fact it was a genre of music.
Yes, it's now a trend, but there is still an emo music fan base, comprised of individuals such as myself.
THINK BEFORE YOU POST.

Yeah? Well, all of your tastes are nothing but a fad and a trend too.
It's true!
It's true because I say it's true.
See how much of a big pile of bullshit that is?
And you!

Emo stands for "Emotive Hardcore," not just "emotional."
Anyways, the OP posted 3 times and then disappeared, so please let this thread die.

He's trying to say that just because you said it's all a fad doesn't make it true.
There was some crap going around how emo stood for Emotionally and Morally Oppressed.
Far from true?

I'm talking about the little kids, that whine and act like their worlds over. Melodramatic kids the call themselves emo. Kids that force to slit their wrist & take myspace angles revealing themselves.

And that's not emo. And yet you call it emo.
You better never complain about people giving you shit or confusing you, because you're just as bigoted as they are.

Goth sucks, it's just a fad/trend. I'm talking about the devil worshippers who fuck goats in their assholes and kill their own parents. Priests of darkness who call themselves goth. Kids that slit their wrists and take myspace angles revealing themselves.

I'm not goth. I just appreciate goth culture. I.E. The 80's.

The 80's were a fad/trend. I'm talking about the suburban young adults with shitty haircuts. The materialist yuppies that get white collar jobs and like awful music.

You realize I was mocking your conception of emo, right?
Did you just deny that you're a goth in order to avoid association with my totally sardonic, jocular characterization thereof?

Wikipedia got a somewhat nice article about Emo, but the breed of emo you see nowadays are a bit far from what it used to be. In a society that thrives on misery, the young ones quickly adopt the stance of appearing to be unhappy and look goofy.
I've seen happy girls with lots of friends turn into loners and selfcutters due to this trend and I don't like it. Hence I bash emo's every chance I get so they can get a grip of what the hell they're doing and straighten up.

These statements are equally accurate and appropriate if 'emo' is replaced with 'goth'.

There was a girl at my school freshman year who cut just to prove how "emo" she was, she even ran around showing people pictures of bloody razors on her bathroom counter. Once I told her that she wasn't really emo, and before she even let me tell her just why she wasn't, she got in my face and showed her scars shouting "IF I WEREN'T EMO THEN HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THESE." And then she started crying.

You're a strange one Gothicus.
I hate people who choose to just start cutting themselves because it makes them "emo". x.x

The word you're searching for is troll.
I don't think she is. A lot of these "emo" kids don't know the difference and think goths and emos are the same thing. Sad waste of resources...

Afterwards? Who the hell cares about what happens AFTER sex? I'm out of there anyway. As long as she's not bawling during the act itself, I'm cool. In fact, that my sheer sexual prowess has reduced my lover to a hysterical mess might gratify me further.
