Do you Like / Hate EvaneScence ?

EvaneScence is a band we all know .. but do you consider it Gothic or not .. and do you like Amy lee's Haunting Vocals or you just can't stand it .. ?

I like them..
But i think of Amy Lee's voice as moaning in certain songs.

Not Goth, she has an okay voice, and she should have stopped making albums after Fallen.

I like Amy Lee mainly because her voice and my voice are in the same range, and I enjoy singing. My Immortal reminds me very much of my best friend who died. Other than that.. Evanescence isn't THAT great.

EvaneScence isn't all about My Immortal .. there's the whole Origin album .. i mean " the last song i'm wasting on you " is gr8 . . Lithium is kinda Dark 2 .. and .. Understanding , solitude , breath no more , bleed , and October ..

I understand that she's done other work. My Immortal is, in my opinion, the only song that has actual meaning to it.
I think Amy could do a lot better with the music AND the vocals.

Lithium is a piece of shit. That entire album is a waste of money.

Well .., Lithium is not a piece of shit .. not at all .. and TOD is not that bad album .. yes Fallen and the other albums are better but still it's a good album .. and I , like you , think that Amy could do so much better in music .. she has an amazing voice ..

Not Goth. The music is a tired and uninspired forumula. They sound like Linkin Park with female vocals and make me cringe every time I hear them. Hate.

Not Goth, and I once read an Danzig interview in which he said they were just trying to rip off Lacuna Coil, and are just as pop as Tiffany (or something along those lines, not his exact words), and I thought "Yup, thats pretty much it."

I did listen to them for a while in highschool, but I lived in a town miles away from any record store, had no internet and the only music channels we had were Much Music and Much More Music, and I stopped listening to them when I discovered the show Much Loud (late at night on Fridays they would play half an hour of metal songs). Once I discovered what good music sounded like, basically.

Man sometimes I sound like an old person o.O we had to walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways!

I like evanescence, i was huge fan before, but it got bored of it. Still sometimes i put some of my favorites songs in playlist...like Solitude, Exodus, Lies, Eternal, Field of innocence....

It doesn't matter if people consider them goth or not. There are bands that ARE goth and bands that AREN'T goth. It's not an opinion thing. In this case, not. And no, I don't like them.

Not particularly fond of them. My Immortal was okay, I can be found playing that on the guitar sometimes when I´m out of ideas when asked to sing. But it´s not something I would spend money on.

I used to like some of the Origin stuff.
But haven't listened in forever.
NOT goth.
And Fallen and everything after is just shit.
I think Amy Lee has a nice natural voice but she doesn't use it to her advantage.

Seriously. Evanescence isn't goth. Amy Lee has a pretty good voice but I agree with the people who say that they're ripping off lacuna coil.

i see .. well whatever i still thinks they rock .. and if anyone knows a band that makes a music like them please post it .. i mean " my immortal-like " ..

I like them. But I'm more into their older stuff. Some of their new stuff is good, but most of it is kind of boring. I like Nightwish and Lacuna Coil better.

They sound like every other band trying to dark while also trying to top the pop charts. Theres worse music but, theres alot that's far better.
