What is Goth (Simplified)
I was asked one day by someone what is goth. When I explained what it was I guess the explanation was too long, and she was overloaded.
What I was hoping for is a nice neat/short explanation.
Something that outlines goth fashion, music, atitude, and origin.
yah stuff like that.

Dear Opteron,
Goth is a word, beginning with "G," and ending with "H."
I'm sure you want an answer a bit more detailed than that, but the reason most explanations of "Goth" are so long is that its a complicated subject, with much disagreement about the actual definition among people who fall under the category. Trying to explain "Goth" is an absolute nightmare, it would be so much easier to just let everyone assume we're a bunch of wrist cutters. If you're determined however, I would recommend reading and attempting to summarize Voltaire's book, "What Is Goth?"
Sincerely,
M.A.

If the things on here are too long, just tell the person to type "goth subculture" on wiki. Or don't if thats not what goth is to you. Its still a pretty long article.
Sentance from that entry: "The goth subculture has associated tastes in music, aesthetics, and fashion, whether or not all individuals who share those tastes are in fact members of the goth subculture."

Goth is a word used to make someone feel or seem special, dark, and unique.
Goth, when used to describe a genre of music, is a bit easier to pin point.
This thread is dumb.

I don´t want to be rude but this forum is fo full of this kind of threads (Specifically this subject) that I´m not even answering the question, so I prefer not saying anything usefull .
By the way, Opteron_Man, I don´t know if it´s just me, but I´ve noticed you´re a very insecure person, if I´m wrong, just ignore this, but if I´m right I tell you, just be yourself and don´t be afraid of people.
....
I think I say ¨just¨ a lot O.o

This is one of these things, you either get it or you don't. If you get it, you know what it means, and recognize what people try to describe with words. IF you don't get it, no amount of explaining will change that.

I'm calling bullshit on that.
The next time a friend asks you what a goth is, just say there are no cut and dry definitions, dispel any misconceptions, and offer to send them some links if they're really interested.

Yes, and a Germanic tribe, and a kind of literature.

Let's talk about something better. Mexican and other latino styled foods.
Actually, I haven't had much of it, but I don't entirely care for Spanish food. But I'm a raving addict when it comes to Mexican.
Fajitas with steak, shrimp, and chicken is so delicious. So is cheese enchiladas.

Sorry, my nana also uses it as the word for fried bananas in cinnamin sugar. And yes, you do win! As a prize you get a lovely virtual teddy bear and a yummy virtual cookie.
