Nick Drake

..I copied the following Drake-inspired breakdown I wrote from the "listening to" thread and couldn't help it. He's that good.

Honestly for me he's the most underrated musical genius of all time, but I'm probably only saying that out of over analyzing and narrating my life to the Labyrinth that is Pink Moon. I think our musical gods cursed him with such a fate due to him at dying at 26 and thus not fitting the criteria of forever 27 where many equals of his shine in their tragic legacy.

But his is tale is indeed authentic. And I have yet to hear a bad song by him in his phenomenally short career from the creaks of folkish ingenious. He's words and harmony are rubbing off the more I listen.

I prefer Five Leaves Left. For me, River Man is one of the best songs written. I also like Three Hours, and Black Eyed Dog (not off that album)

Either way, nice call, he was a hell of a musician, not sure what exactly the "creaks of folkish ingenious" are, but they sound painful, no wonder he was a major depressive... :P

RIVERMAN! Yes.
I meant "depths of HIS folkish ingenious." And that was really just me going off on a love tirade for Mr. Drake. Just found out there's a cult awaiting me dedicated to him, lol.

But yeah he was pretty brooding, he definetly deserves a thread on here.
