Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Favorite soundtrack
OK, mine is probably the one from Dee Sniders "Strangeland". It was probably my cult movie growing up, and then there's "The Wraith" of the 80's jaundra......

Please no one say the Garden State soundtrack.
My favorite is the soundtrack from "Velvet Goldmine." Its got Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Brian Eno, Roxy Music and a bunch of awesome original songs that are made to sound like Bowie songs that never were.

I enjoyed the score to "Requiem For A Dream".
Also, the "Singles" soundtrack ruled.

God! I've discovered great music through soundtracks, but I have to say that the ones belonging to all of Sophia Coppola's films are the best I've heard by far. My personal favourite, though, is the one for Lost in Translation. I must have listened to it at least a hundred times during 2006. The OST for Marie Antoinette is also awesome... lots of 80s music, with some Siouxsie, The Cure, etc.

I'm sad to say that I love the 'Amelie' and 'Good Bye Lenin' Soundtracks both by Yann Tiersen.

It sounds rather cleché, but I really loved the Crow soundtrack. Burn by the Cure has got to be one of my favourite songs of all time. Also Donnie Darko - the version of Mad World by Gary Jules was amazing.

There's nothing sad about loving Yann Tiersen. Even if Amelie has become a bit too popular, its still a great movie, and Yann Tiersen is still awesome.

True. I can't stand it when people decide that a CD or a movie is no good just because it's "mainstream".

Edward Scissorhands. I'm going to leave out the musicals, because then I'd be going on for hours. But Edward Scissorhands... I wish I could get my hands on a CD with the music from that movie.

Black Snake Moan looks like it will have a great soundtrack. You can listen to portions of each song here.

Yep, it was produced by Trent Reznor and Flood, I think. Not a NIN fan per se, but it's a good compilation CD, very eclectic. If you liked it, check out Tank Girl and also the soundtrack from any Greg Araki film "The Living End", "Doom Generation" et al...

Eeks...Doom generation... I won that movie and another called Thirteen from an aus goth mag called Fiend when I lived over there. I can't say I ever wanted to die after seeing a bad movie but Doom generation came close. I do think the soundtrack was supposed to be good though.

Apparently there's supposed to be a soundtrack to The Blair Witch Project, that doesn't include music from the movie, but it's supposedly a mix tape found in one of the character's cars after his "death."
