I have heard that Billie Joe was quite cocky. To tell them they suck, that must of took some guts lol. But I don't understand why bands are always snubbed after they get signed!! What's wrong with them wanting to expand and make more money? If you were in there place, and had the opportunity to sign with a major label, wouldn't you go for it??

I never really liked them to begin with, so it doesn't make a difference to me whether they're 'emo-core', 'psuedo-punk', or 'pop'. I thought that their first album sucked, and they've just gotten worse with age.

Bleh.

Most of the time when a band gets signed to a major label they are asked to change their music one way or another. I personally would never sign to a major because it would compromise my integrity as a musician. There are tons of old school punk bands who never signed to a major because of that and I respect them far more than a band who changes their sound just to make money.

I happen to like GreenDay. Greenday is not punk. It is alternative, or just to be stupid, punk-opera.

As long as their sound, and opinions, didn't change I wouldn't care. If they started to act differently,or all of a sudden changed in some major way then I wouldn't respect them any longer.

I was once in a band that played many Green Day covers, so I may not be the one to judge. To be fair, I was living in Bolivia at the time and therefore outside of the band's sphere of influence. The music sounded okay to me at the time, though I was never a real fan, but the band disgusts me now that I can see their commercialism firsthand.

How has Green Day changed since they were signed? I'm not challenging your knowledge of Green Day, I'm just asking your opinion.

I like Green Day. Not enough to know if Billie has a new girlfriend, but when they came to Raleigh, I saw them. I thought they were awesome live, and the energy their show induced from the crowd was amazing. I know all kinds of different people that like green day. At the concert there were a few older rocker dudes, and some moms with their kids. I don't really think they can be classified as anything, but they definitely have punk roots.

I was at that concert too!! There was alot of crowd interaction, and it was fun to watch Billie jump around on stage, but I didn't think it was all that great. I mean, they had the confetti and pyrotechnics (which made it really hot where I was...) but no moshing! That's always what I look forward to, I didn't really expect it at a Green Day concert though..

I'd have to say the coolest thing about that night was when I met Jim Atkins of Jimmy Eat World. We didn't get there in time to see JEW preform but after the show we waited after everyone was gone, and my friend recognized him. He was on the other side of the gate thing right where both bands entered the stage. My friends and I went over to him and started talking. Soon, about 4 other people came over. Most people had already left. We got him to sign our tickets and my friend Kathryn got her purse signed. He also pulled out like 3 guitar picks out of his pocket and handed one to my 2 friends and some other girl. lol. I didn't get one.. but that was alright. I didn't talk to him as much as my friend Kathryn.. she kept trying to convince him to give Billie Joe a message.. *rolls eyes* He seemed like a really nice/intelligent guy.

Anyhow.. someone mentioned Green Day being the original blink 182. I would have to agree with that.. Whether or not you like Green Day, you can't deny that they have inspired many of the bands that are so popular today.

Well, they did have all those signs that advised against moshing. Do you remember when he had those people come up and play? The guy who played base (not the guy who kissed Billie) goes to my school. The coolest part for me was when this random hot dude came up and kissed me because I was wearing a Dropkick Murphys shirt with the "Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced" design from Warped Tour. That was definitely fun.
I would love to meet either members of Green Day or Jimmy Eat World. That would be awesome.

The guy that played the guitar with the bleach blond hair was the SAME guy who played the guitar in Charlotte when Green Day played there. At the Raleigh show I knew I recognized the dude because of his hair and all, then the next day I was listening to 96 Rock and they confirmed my suspicions. You know when Billie ended up giving the guitar to the girl who couldn't play? That's when the dude that played the guitar after her went up to the mic and was like "That's okay- I got one in Charlotte!" Because Billie gave it to him when he played there. When he said that, Billie thought the guy had said some shit about Good Charlotte so he had him escorted. I guess Green Day and Good Charlotte don't like eachother or something.. Anyhow, I felt kind of bad for that guy. Billie heard him wrong.. I'm almost sure that makes one less Green Day fan in the world.

That's cool that the dude who played bass goes to your school. And props for scoring that kiss with a hottie. lol.. Can I borrow your shirt?

They now are attempting to look feminine by wearing make-up......which is actually pretty funny. I am guessing that a label exec told them to so that they could compete with all of the 'emo' bands that are doing exactly the same thing.

I wasn't talking about Green Day in that post by the way.

Okay, I wasn't sure. You just said 'they' and I wasn't sure. I figured Green Day, because of the thread. Now I see that you were just talking about bands in general.

What the Fuck?! You can't just change from goth to punk. It's what you are, not some trend you can change. Fucking poser.

You are an idiot. First off you are supposed to make your first post in the introduction thread, but I guess reading the newbie thread was too much for you to handle. Also, the person you are going off on was being sarcastic. The fact that you couldn't understand that that post was full of sarcasm speaks volumes about your intelligence. The fact that you called somebody a 'poser' on a board that you have never participated in makes you look like a 14 year old boy who sits behind his computer all day, thinking that he is making clever remarks when in fact he is nothing but a spoiled brat. Shut up.

Don't even get me started on how stupid and stereotypical you username is.

First of all, I am not a poser. I purposely copied what every other goth did, so that makes me goth.

Secondly, two of my pointless threads have already been deleted. Who the fuck runs these forums anyway? Communist Russia?
