Hello, I'm Robyn..

And, I'm not good at introductions..

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I sew. All day, every day (I don't have much of a social life.) I sell a lot of my designs, and I'm going to open an online store..eventually...

2. Where are you from?
Currently living in Long Beach, California.
I really don't care for it out here, or any of Los Angeles for that matter.

3. Who is your favorite author?
I haven't found one yet, and I have wasted a lot of time on a lot of stupid books. Recommendations?

4. What are your favorite films?
I don't watch television or movies much. I generally don't listen to what the characters are saying, and focus on the interior and fashion design..
I'm suppose I'm just a VERY visual person..

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I'm quite fond of the classic Canon song, but maybe the rock version?

6. At your funeral?
Too Dead To Die - Wednesday 13.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Quite honestly..I plan on shooting myself when I feel I'm done living.
I don't ever want to be old, not to the point were I am living life as a vegetable in a nursing home.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
I'd rather be cremated. I don't find the idea of rotting in a grave appealing..
But, if I had to choose, I'd want a black and white striped one with black lace (how original..).

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
I have far too many..so I can't choose.
I like most everything I make.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Not much. I was a stupid child. Thinking back, I deserved to be shoved into a meat grinder.

11. What's your favorite band?
I could never choose!

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Currently in college. Working on getting my business license and a degree in fashion design.

13. Why did you join?
Myspace is quite boring. And my "friends" on there are just plain annoying. I'd rather talk with (hopefully) like minded people on here instead.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
.....

The only part of this that I thought was significant.

I have wasted a lot of time on a lot of stupid books. ... So you pick nothing but stupid books, cannot figure out how to get a good referral or find all books are stupid? I don't know if this is annoying or not; not everyone has to be a reader.

I generally don't listen to what the characters are saying, and focus on the interior and fashion design.. I'm suppose I'm just a VERY visual person.. ... Or very shallow. Or ADD afflicted. I really don't see the sense of this.

I was a stupid child. Thinking back, I deserved to be shoved into a meat grinder. (!) More disturbing than funny, and it raises larger questions about who that child has become.

What's your favorite band? I could never choose! No book, no film, no band. A caricature of a person struggles to not reveal itself.

The design stuff is very nice and you can probably even sell some of your stuff in the Shill section.

It may be everyone else here finds this intro to be interesting. And it may be that I will find you to be interesting once I see you post a bit. But for now, this just seems a bit vacuous to me. Meh.

Welcome to this place. I may come to look forward to your contributions.

Well, I cannot please everyone.
But I'll try to at least clear things up..

1. I'm very busy making custom orders. I really don't like making excuses, but because of that I have not read many books. They few I have read, I didn't like. However, now that I think about it, I did really like Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame.. =)

2. Oh, how could I forget The Fountain? But honestly, I am not shallow. I am not ADD afflicted. I am a designer. I cannot help that I find that more interesting than the story line.

3. Disturbing indeed, it wasn't meant to be funny. I'd rather not get into it.

4. Lately I have been listening to mostly Fields of Nephilim, Skinny Puppy, and Sephiroth. I guess they're my favorites for the time being.

The "xXx_____xXx" thing makes you seem like a myspace whore, like Vin, but you don't seem as stupid as she is.

Glad I wasn't the only one........ although I guess asking for recommendations is better than just name-dropping Poe then never talking lit again.

Ask the Dust, Catch-22, Breakfast of Champions, Timequake, The Brothers Karamazov, Big Sur, Wuthering Heights, The Return of the Native, Waiting for Godot, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Half a Yellow Sun.... finding good authors is like finding good musicians - once you find out what got them writing, you'll want to hear that shit. It's well worth dipping your toe in. It's like finding a band you love, but better becaue you'll find whole philosophies you can identify with.

Ben - not everyone HAS to be a reader, but I find it ironic that people here wwill shit all over someone for naming the wrong band, yet don't give a shit if they write "don't read books" as an answer to the favorite author question. Art is art, and if you're not into it you're missing out.

I know! I don't actually like it, but I thought Robyn would be taken already. I didn't want any other name than my own. But it doesn't really matter.

Thank you, Apathy.

the XxX thing reminds me of AOL like, 15 years ago, when all the roleplaying kids had that hugging something like NyteStalker, or Ooo ooO.

Yeah, it's a mistake for anyone to be on the internet trying to please everyone. And I wasn't expecting that, really. But the book answers you listed here are intriguing and satisfying. Better answers. Thanks for addressing them when you didn't have to, and thanks for not getting defensive.

Agreed. Hey, I loved the Vonnegut I've read (I absolutely adored "Hocus Pocus"). But I never got around to "Breakfast of Champions." Pretty good, eh?

Timequake is my all-time favorite (I'd be pushed to name a more beautfiful book - I just love the guy and he shows so much of himself in it), but yeah, BoC is great. Especially if you already like his style, which is pretty consistent throughout most of his novels.

Preferring visual art is shallow? What?
