nails
Just a random thread. I wish to enquire as to the color and length of people's nails. I'm lucky mine are forgiving, I've done everything to mine, from fake to superglued back on after getting slammed under the combat boot of a really fat dude. So; black vs. nude, long vs. short?
Personal fave; clear on all but paint the middle one bright red.

My nails are usually between 1 and 1.5 cm long with square tips. If they were longer I wouldn't be able to thread a needle or hold a pencil and if I had pointy tips they would break more easily.
I dont really like black nail polish. My choice are various shades of red, berry, plum and purple.

I usually tend to keep mine quite short because I have a biting problem, but I've been super proud of growing them out, so they're all about half an inch long and black.

Because of my contacts, I'm forced to wear them relatively short, not allowing them protruding more than a mm or two from the tips of my fingers. If I paint them, it's more likely to be some very dark shade of red or purple, but this seldomly happens, considering that I'm much to active for such activities. It'll just go away in a very ugly fashion after a few hours or, if I'm lucky, a day.

Mine are usually unpainted.. and I know that a lot of you have seen lesbian porn and think that all lesbians have wonderfully long fingernails painted bright red... but no. Would you let anyone with talons like that near your private parts?
Mine are very very short and very neat.

Mine are plain and short too, for playing the keyboard. I couldn't bear the hassle of painting my nails, waiting for them to dry, probably having to clean nail vanish off the carpet afterwards... But I do paint them occasionaly with clear nail varnish if I have to look posh for some reason.

Long. French manicure. They look pretty. I'm very over black nail polish, it's usually bad quality and chips really easily.

I love dark silver or gunmetal grey myself. What's that one brand? Urban Decay?
I love that old Flash Gordon look. Call me an old romantic if you will.

Heh I know I'm a guy but I like to keep mine at 1 cm from the finger. I really can't imagine life with them shorter, they help alot with many things like opening packaging.Fortunatly for me I inherited my grandfathers strong nails which he also kept long. I wonder if they get stronger with age because we need toenail clippers to cut his now.

I don't know how long my nails are. The little creamy part that sticks out is maybe a cm or whatever. They are not short or long. I put a little curve on them, just so the edges don't catch on stuff.
I bought black nial polish, but never wears. Usually stay natural or clear nail polish.

Short, because if they're too long, I might poke myself in the eye when taking out my contacts. And generally unpainted, because I'm lazy. When I do wear polish, it's usually black, blue, or green.

About 1 cm long, soft-tapered, no polish. I'd love to paint them all the time, but the stuff chips off too easily.

I am updating previous statement. After going home I measured my nails and they are 0.5 cm.

I have to keep mine short for general cello playing, so on my left hand purely short. On my right hand my thumb and index finger nail must be kept short; my middle, ring, and pinkie finger nails are left to grow.
If I can keep them long, they are oval shaped, and .5 centimeters over the tips of my fingers preferably left natural, buffed most often. I like my mails long because I think my fingers look short and too thick, compared to most they're not but, yes... anyway like high heels make the legs look longer my nails make my fingers look longer when long.

My nails are naturally really long. They're also strong, naturally of course. I like to use dark blue, black, or a gun silver/metal on my nails. But most of the time I keep them unpainted so they don't turn yellow underneath, because that's just unhealthy.

I don't know the precise measurements, but my nails protrude just the smallest bit past the edge of my fingers. They are rectangular in shape, rounded at the ends and very thin. Black is the only color polish I use... any other color just looks tacky to me, unless complemented by some other extravagant feature.
I'd consider painting half of them black and those in between white, if I didn't feel like I'd be taking that from someone... don't know who though.

Mine are always short, since I have a tendency to bite them off. I don't really ever paint them. I used to when I was in middle and high school, but it's just not really "me" now.
