Bluegrass and Country. Well, I don't necessarily HATE them, but I'm not giving them a thorough try anytime soon. Gangsta Rap is just... oh, it makes me lose braincells. And last but not least, Death Metal. The instrumentals are too heavy. It sounds like noise to me. Whenever Metal is toned down and organised, I can stand it.

Mid-eastern music. I really don't hear it very often, but when I do, it is so annoying.

Still not as bad as rap, though.

Obviously you guys haven't heard any good rap. I suggest you all listen to Shing02 or a good song from Hideout Productions.

So far the one I can't seem to enjoy is R&B, with the exception of Gold Digger by blind Ray.

Funny, I have tried and tried to like rap, but with rare exception I can't. It's like slam poetry ... it may be art, but it doesn't sound like anything I want to listen to. Some of it has objectionable content, but almost all of it sounds like "well, I can't sing ... what else can I do?" The equivalent is someone who decides they want to make music so bad but they can't master an instrument, so they hum on a kazoo. I know rap is very popular so I'm in the minority in that view, but I never liked those "Chant" recordings either. I also don't care for most beatbox artists.

I do however like most R&B, although I find most modern R&B doesn't hold a candle to what was produced in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Also, it's a very rare bagpipe recording I find listenable, and Scottish dirges are right out.

On a more positive light, I used to not be able to stand much country music, but I've come around on both the very old school artists (Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, etc.) and The Highwaymen (Johhny Cash, Kris "Sunday Morning Coming Down" Kristofferson, etc.) ... and I always liked Waylon and Willie.

There's something about most country that just drives me insane. I used to have a huge hard on for hating rap, but I actually found some half-decent rap/hip-hop.

Other than that I would have to say I detest whatever the fuck Simple Plan, (new) AFI, and similar bands are. People keep telling me it's punk, but I disagree.

How can you completely hate country when they have song titles like "How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away?" and "Get Your Tongue Outta My Mouth 'Cause I'm Kissing You Goodbye" and "My Wife Ran Off With My Best Friend, and I Sure Do Miss Him" and "I Can't Get Over You, So Why Don't You Get Under Me?" and "She Got the Ring and I Got the Finger" and "I Still Miss You Baby, But My Aim's Gettin' Better". That's the language of LURVE there!

I'm sure I've convinced so many of you. ROFL!

Although, there are some song titles that are just unforgivable ... like "They May Put Me In Prison, But They Can't Stop My Face From Breakin' Out".

Rap/hip-hopy-type thing against racism, with spoken word elements from an elderly woman. Smash stereotypes.

Bravo

I applaud you heartily and think of the wonderful songs I love from all genres that I would have missed out on were I strict in my interpretation of good music.

That said if I never hear another Pussycat Dolls, Girls Aloud or Madonna song again I will die a happy person

Hi latino bro; agreed on this. I actually find bachata's use of percussion pretty interesting, and they have good guitar players, but fuck every song has to be about breaking up, it's like latin emo.
