Unique baby names
My wife and I are expecting. The baby is due in about a month. But we have no clue what to name him.
Originally, we were going to go with the name Ashe, but our second child didn't make it. (He died before birth.) Then, he was cremated. So the name Ashe isn't appropriate.
I want the name Zephram, but my wife thinks that it's too odd. We want something odd, but not so odd that people wonder WTF? (I personally don't think that Zephram is that odd, but the child is both of ours, so both of us should agree.)
Can any of you suggest anything that's not too "odd," but still unique?

I've looked through the list that site provides, and haven't come up with something we like. I'll look again, though. Thanks.

Xavier is such a nice name for a boy, and it's not entirely uncommon either.

Do your kid a favor- don't go too out there with the name. Or else give him/her a less "unique" middle name. You may find that looking through older literary works and even 19th century may give you something srtong and unique and also recently archaic, or also look into more heritaged names... but nothing in the Gwynneth Paltrow range.
Alaisdair, Llewellyn, Axel, Padraic, Eli...
Older, more traditional names or those that represent your heritage (especially if you are in the US) are solid names, without being simply a representation of your interests or hobbies.

My son's name is Kael Rowan. We actually get a lot of compliments on his name (and a good amount of "How do you pronounce that?"). A good friend of mine just had a baby boy and named him Tristan Gabriel and another friend of mine has a little boy named Drake. Feel free to swipe any of those.
We were going to name our son Lucifer Lee but our ultra-conservative grandparents collectively threatened to die.

I like Tempest. It was on that list, though it was pretty cool.
I'm also extremely fond of the name Vincent.

What about just Luc? Short for Lucifer.
I find Antal is a good gothic sounding name. (Hungarian for Anthony)

Have you thought of mythological names? Some of the lesser known names are interesting but not overtly 'odd'. http://www.pantheon.org would be a good place to start if you were to consider it.
My surname is derived from Nuada (sometimes referred to as Nuidha or Nuidhat), who is an ancient Celtic god. I like the idea of having that as my first son's middle name.

Better than half the shit kids are being named these days. Poor kiddos, named after their parents interest and hobbies, practically becoming fashion accessories. I say name them something that the grandparents will like as the grandparents tend to raise the kids moreso than the parents ever will.
*general statement, not to be applied to anyone specifically*

I like the name Aiden. Although that's a little common.

Oh hush up, Duckie.
I've always had a fondness for the name "Skye". I'm also quite partial to Luc, Jack, and Johnny.
For a girl, I like Asia.
^.^

It just really pisses me off. Do you lot not remember how shitty kids can be? You name yr kid something stupid, and it will have the shitbeaten out of it. I have an incredibly common name, but because it's spelt a little differently, I got flak for it. I knew a kid called Athan who had to be home schooled because the other kids would make his life miserable for having a weird name, and it's not even that weird. Imagine how yr kids life will be you call it Zaphram.

How about naming it Pierre?
If finding a name for your child is being really hard, you should ask relatives about names they like. Consider them and then choose any of your liking. That's how my parents named my sister.

Forego the name completely and just see what the kid answers to.

My grandmother pretty much named me actually.
I've always been fond of the name "Jane" for some reason. (Might be because of Jane Austen) I also like Isabelle, Virginia, Elizabeth, and Shay.
