What is "UNgoth" about you?
So, tell us something about you that is very (stereotypically) UNgoth. It could be something you wear, own, watch, enjoy, do, etc.
i.e. my love for broadway musicals. shhhh!!!

I wouldn't say there's anything ungoth about me. But for the sake of survival I have to tone myself down so that Corp. America isn't afraid of me.

I don't want a black cat. I think orange cats are prettier. You've all seen my Diego, right? If you haven't, here he is:

Also, I'm in a sorority and I've never seen The Crow.

I don't think so. Try something else.
My first welcome here on Gnet a while back when I first joined was from Major Bromley ("The Major") who is in the Air Force, and he is, shall we say, "dark".
He hasn't posted in a long time. I wonder what happened to him? O_o

Plenty stereotypically "ungoth" here. Goth is in my heart, but not on my skin.
I prefer not to wear makeup, I choose never to dye my hair, and I choose never to have tattered or ripped clothes. For me, I prefer the natural look.
On other guys, though, I love the "goth look".

I smile.
I smile when I am happy. I smile when I'm angry. I have a particularly rigid grin for when I am scared enough to piss my pants.

Oh, that list is going to be long, I think...
I love musical theatre, and am going to study it next semester. I've always loved Bryan Adams, Elton John, doo wop/ swing jazz a la Frankie Avalon and Frank Sinatra (both are artists whose music I love dearly), Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (as far from gothic music as you could get, I guess), rockabilly (Elvis!) and I absolutely despise EBM and metal (don't shoot me; many goths I've met seem to like either one or both) and that kind of music. One of my favourite movies is the 1987 version of Dirty Dancing; I love watching old Elvis Presley movies. I am very fond of baby blue, and do have a few pink garments in my wardrobe. Only thirtty percent of my entire wardrobe is black. I've never been to a goth club in my entire life (that's going to change when I go down south, though, believe me). I wasn't aware of there being anything called "goth" until I was sixteen or seventeen years old... uh... *thinks* I enjoy playing traditional irish (and scottish) music on my tin whistle. That's not particularly gothic, is it? Actually, come to think of it, this is all just a matter of definitions...

I have never worn make up, and I find the behavior exhibited by the "columbine shooters" style of people appalling. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but at my school, everyone seems to think that the "dark" people approve of senseless acts of violence and cruelty.
I also like music like Neil Young, and Genesis. Also (the biggest one) is that I greatly enjoy a good laugh. Why do people always think that just 'cause we're different we are all depressed and have no sense of humour?!?!

We have a bit of non-goth musical taste in common. Love Bryan Adams, love Elton John, love Sinatra, love Frankie Valli, love traditional Irish music.
And Patrick Swayze is of teh hot.

I have never been to a goth club ( there aren't any that I know of anyway )
I don't know a single goth in real life ( which is probably why I have never been to a goth club )
I like pretty floaty magical fantasy art ( as well as the darker sort ) involving unicorns, fairies, ect..
I adore AFI and I like some metal and shhhh HIM ( all not goth as we very well know )
I have a strong tree hugging hippy streak. But I am pagan so I think I can be forgiven that one

Take your pick...
- I have just finished learning the theme to the Pink Panther on the piano
- Most of my wardrobe is colourful. I generally wear all black with one brightly coloured element. Eg. black skirt, tights, jacket with a bright red shirt. That way my parents can't tell me I'm dressed too somberly (sp?).
- I listen to *gasp* mainstream music. As in what "normal" people are listening to. Yes, that does involve Fergie, Justin Timberlake, Akon, Nelly Furtado and Gwen Stefani. Let me justify that though...I love to dance, and will dance to any music. However, most of the mainstream muic nowadays has the most awful and degrading lyrics. So I blank most of the vocals out on my computer and just use the beat to dance too.
- I love to dance to any style of music. Which is mentioned in my previous point. By any type of dance, I really do mean it. Salsa, tango, waltz, hip-hop, scottish reels, ballet, balisa, mambo, jazz, contemporary - my personal favourite and many many more. I do them all.
- I really don't see what all the fuss about goth vs. non-goth music is.
- I do not own anything with skulls on it.
- I sometimes wear perfume (many people at my school look at me and say "OMG, you can't be a goth; you wear perfume!)
- I'm not always dressed in black
- I love to laugh
- I really do like a "chicks' night out" with my friends...some chick flicks, popcorn, fizzies and candy on a big couch. All of us in pyjamas etc, laughing, looking absolutely care-free.
And more. But I'm too lazy to write them down

I agree, there's nothing "ungoth" about that. As a matter of fact, I will be meeting with an Air Force recruiter in a half hour. What a coincidence...
Of course I did have to take off my makeup and nail polish so I can look presentable. So I guess there's another thing to add to this thread's list.

Lets see...
I have a horse, and it is QUITE painful to ride in flowy lace skirts, so every afternoon I don faded blue jeans, shovel feces, and then ride. I also do this every time I work. The spoiled trophy-wives whose horses I take care of didn't go for the eye make up and ever-changing hair colors that I had before I was employed there.
I have only been to Non-Goth concerts (mainly because other people bring me, but I do like all the bands) REM, A Perfect Circle, System Of A Down, Tool, BB King, Guster (Its my amazing boyfriend's favorite band) and, afew others.

I think my love for punk definitely is ungoth, but it's close. I feel like my attraction to goth is my punk side growing up.
Something really ungoth? My ditzy, twirling my hair, airhead side, which is displayed a lot of the time.
