Aside from being slightly irritated at times here on g.net, I've noticed that most of the people on here are totally worth getting to know and converse with on a decently regular basis.

It has been really interesting and fun to get fresh points of view on various topics... its even been rather fun to put the gloves on and have the odd debate or two.

I've been rather excited to see that we've had a lot of new people lately. Its always nice to have fresh meat on the table. I hope that you guys continue to post and keep this place lively and interesting.

For the sensitive and sensible types ... do not despair... for the assholes are most certainly the minority here. It may seem like the opposite is true, but that is only because they are loud and tend to repeat themselves.

However, if it gets to be too much and one must vent... please feel free to do it here.

Perhaps not so specific, every one has a reason for irritation at times, and its not always so much a person that is the cause.. but a general attitude and mindset of a few people who never left elementary school in their minds.

I was under the impression that the rant thread was mostly about general life experiences and not so much for the silly drama's of g.net specifically.

I've seen people bitch about users and management and general behavior patterns and gnet hospitality in that thread before. There doesn't seem to be any specific requirement that the posts in the Rant Thread be non-goth or non-gnet in nature, or about real life or anything else specific.

The Rant Thread II was started by an Admin here (Mar of 2009) to replace the previous Rant Thread, without any rules or constraints about what could be talked about ... there were no rules in the first post.

The previous Rant Thread was started April of 2004 by a previously active admin with the following instruction:

Post all of your bitching, sniveling, whining, death threats and general verbal malaise here.

There were no rules on what or who should be included or excluded there either.

So I'm suggesting that your assumption led you to a false impression.

I didn't say she wasn't free to start this thread. But I've seen the results of such things ... in fact, I was just browsing through some of the older threads created specifically to complain about behaviors or other people here. What a bunch of train wrecks!

They could serve as parables from the land of unintended consequences.

BTW.. thanks to all the kids who don't suck.. you guys rock. Its always nice to know that there are people who understand that there are others who think and feel differently than they do but have the balls to respect it.. and still add their two cents.
