Can't Sleep - again
I do not know what my problem is. It's been two weeks I believe since I've gotten myself a decent night of sleep. It was like all of the sudden I can not get to sleep. Just 30 mins now, I tried lying down on my bed while listening to the iPOD, but no good after a warning signal went blasting on my mother's T.V. ( a warning signal that I've never heard before ) and freaked me out, greatly. I have been afraid that the boogeyman is going to me lately or the one with the red eyes.....
I would take Nyquil or some kind of sleeping medicine but I am afraid of not waking up. So, I of course turn away from the medicine cabinet hopping that I will be able to fall asleep after some time. But, no dice. And now, I site writting this at 2:55 A.M. contemplating on whether of not I should play the Sims 2 or go lay down and watch a movie on T.V. I going with the latter after I get some water.
I set my alarm for 9 A.M. because I gotta do a call - back on a job application for Safeway, so sleep or no sleep, I'm forcing myself to get up at that time. But jesus, this is really having an affect on my psychical apperance. I notice that my eyes are starting to look a little more heavy.
I JUST WANT SOME DECENT SLEEP!

Try a bowl of cereal with milk. Milk tends to make some people sleepy. Also, try chamomile tea.

Well, I don't like tea.
I'll try the cereal perhaps.
Even though I am completely against eating when I am not hungry.
Maybe, I'll just drink the milk.
I thought it was warm milk though?
Thanks, HP. :]

It may be a weather issue. Down here in SoCal it's been hot as hell lately, so sleeping has been difficult. Sometimes, a change in sleeping arrangements can help. I don't mean sleep somewhere (or with someone) else, just change your nightly routine. If you normally sleep with just a pillow or two, surround yourself with giant poufy pillows. It works sometimes. Or, if none of that works, just start writing. It doesn't matter what you write. It doesn't matter if you write a story, or a diary, or just random words that pop into your cranium. Just write. Sometimes, the answers to your problems make themselves apparent through writing.
And if none of that helps, well, google "sleep help" or something like that.
And before you say, "Well, I don't like that," or "I'm not into this," or whatever, just try it first.

I used to have that problem. When you're trying to sleep and it isn't happening, don't get stressed about it as that is just going to keep you up even more. Reading a book or listening to music can help you get relaxed and sleepy. Also, make sure your your sleeping space is perfectly comfortable for yourself.
Apparently a banana half an hour before sleep is supposed to help too, but I've never tried that one myself.

^ The writing thing is a very good idea, and I can vouch for it as writing cures all my ailments. Writing and a hot bath.
And sex. But mostly writing and a hot bath.

I got done writing something - a letter to a lover.
I'm still not tired but I plan to stay up all day that way I can be tired by the time night comes or something.
Sex is out of the question - I'm only 17 and I still live with my parents.
I'll try the pillow thing out definitely! xD

One of my friends has problems sleeping, he says he doesn't usually get to sleep until at least 4am. Apparently chamomile tea does really help, shame you don't like that. The other idea of HP's is good too, I eat cereal before going to sleep quite often.
Hot weather always stops me sleeping but theres not much I can do about that, no air conditioning here. Does temperature affect your sleeping much?

I think, I will try one of those options out for myself.
Tea seems to be popular.
I wished I liked tea now. :/

You could try Kava tea, it is an herbal tea and doesn't actually contain any actual tea, the flavor reminds me of the spices in apple pie. It has some lovely natural chemicals that reduce stress, although if you have more than one cup it can make you giggly.

If it doesn't taste like tea then I might try it.
I hope to be in bed by 3 A.M. tonight.

No, I'm only 17.
I already said that I don't want to use drugs.
I'm afraid of waking up. :[
I think I might be love sick or something.
My lover left for Cali two weeks ago and I've been having troubles sleeping for weeks.
There might be a connection, but then again maybe not.
I'm just not sure what it is that is keeping me awake.
It's not bothering me so much right though....

Whenever my girlfriend is gone for extended periods of time (She's gone now until the Monday after next), I get a bit sluggish and I have a hard time sleeping.
What I did when she was gone for a long time (and I plan to start again tomorrow) is run really heavily in the morning. It has a host of benefits to begin with, and by the time you've spent your entire day working, you'll be ready for bed when it comes at night.
Also make sure you keep a regular schedule. It's an extremely important in your sleep cycle.

There's a very good chance it is being caused by your boyfriend being gone. I can't sleep when my boyfriend isn't around. Then again we sleep in the same bed every single night, so not having him there means a very large empty space next to me that even a 6kg purring cat can't fill.
Splintered's advice is no different to what mine would be. Exercise + a regular schedule are what keep our natural sleep chemicals in balance (a purring cat is never a bad thing either).

Well, my girlfriend lives in the North of England and I live down south, we only see eachother two months at a time.
I have to carry on sleeping right, getting up at the right times or i'd never get anything done! Just chill...carry on with stuff as usual and everything will be fine, nothing to worry about.
