Question Games That Suck

So recently I've been renting games instead of buying them for my Xbox360 because it seems more and more games are coming out that just plain suck.

Half of the new games now have bugs which directly effect game play or the storyline.

If they aren't buggy, then I find some are just repetitive, the digital equivalent of copying line for line out of the dictionary for the sake of killing time to make the total game play longer.

The top two shite games I have come across are dead rising and saints row. Buggy, laggy, and full of repetition. They easily fall into the category of games you start, but never finish, and don't care to.

Anyone else out there know of any games that just plain suck?

I've heard that about a lot of the next gen games. Well, moreso for PS3/X360.

Their games are amazing graphically, but only provide 8 hours of gameplay? That's a joke!

The real big reason for this is they mostly fallback on their online multiplayer... For example, Halo.

Who cares about the story? Let's make this the best multiplayer shooter ever!

Personally, I don't find much interest to play online against people who do NOTHING but LIVE these games, and massacre anyone who isn't on it 8 days a week.

I'd much prefer a game that HAS 80+ hours of offline gameplay, a worthy storyline, and plenty of things to accomplish. Final Fantasy X comes to mind, Legend of Zelda.

Hell, even games like Megaman have more replayability and fun than these stupid non-sense shooters they have out now.

Best game on the market today?

Metroid Prime 3.

While Sony and Microsoft battle out who looks shinier and who can pack more losers on their servers, while producing forgettable games and storylines, Nintendo is producing amazing gameplay, great stories and memorable series.

Games that are absoloute GARBAGE imo:

Halo 2 - Xbox
Darkwatch - PS2
Bioshock - 360
Final Fantasy XI - PS2, 360
Halo 3 - 360
Any Movie Franchise Game - You Pick

Notably Great Games imo:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Wii
Final Fantasy X - PS2
Xenosaga III: Also Spracht Zathura - PS2
Halo - XBOX
Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door - Gamecube
TRAPT - PS2
Metroid Prime 1, 2, 3 - Gamecube, Gamecube, Wii

From what I hear, it takes about 6-8 hours to beat the game? The rest is multiplayer.... If you want a good game that has a great story and lots of gameplay, Elder Scrolls.

I usually scan metacritic.com to measure what the gamesites and the public thinks of a game before I buy it. Vampire Rain spelled disaster from the ground up...

I loved Bioshock, but it was a quick game - I beat the whole game in a day.

Oblivion was one of those time filler type games I though that sucked. By the end it was the same story - go from point A to point B, kill the big thing there, get the item, return to point A. Next quest - repeat.

Recently, I learned to hate Saints Row. An obvious GTA knock-off, with good graphics and gameplay, but a crappy storyline and TONNES of filler that wastes hours doing shite activities to keep you busy.

A game I did like that was well made without filler was The Darkness.

There's simply a lack of love or creativity put into games, when compared to brighter eras. There's too much of a reliance on overused methods, and the repetition is starting to show. Developers need to explore new genres, and not gimmick-games like Nintendo's pumping out, but ones that have plot and characters and length.

Bleaergh.

That is a real shame.
You shouldn't be discouraged, though. There are good video games out there, even if they aren't the most publicized. Hell, it's come to be like bands nowadays. There's mainstream games like Halo and Gears of War, and then there's the real gems that are easy to overlook, but are absolutely worth it to own and play. Just takes a little searching.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (1 & 2) are both amazing games.

Why is it that anything StarWars related bites the big one?

Because they bank on the series title and nix on the gameplay.
With a few exceptions.

I pretty much hate any Madden, NHL, NBA game so ya.
But I think the 360 has tons of games that were rushed out.
I personally think Gears of War is Terrible.
Halo 3 had a decent story but the online is to easy and not fun.
I bought Tetris Evolution for $20 about a month ago.
I got all the achievments in like a few days and I kind of think it was a waste of a game. I like teris but I mean it's like it was supposed to be a full fledged game without being one at all.
I haven't played to many RPG's yet but I got Eternal Sonata a week ago and so far it's ok. I like the battle system but it seems a little childish sometimes.
Otherwise the Wii has pretty much all good games.
Haven't even touched the PS3 yet.

I thought it was boring as hell, and the controls felt unnatural.
