Why do people think that throwing insults and using big words

Constitutes for a solid argument? I see that a lot on here and it reminds me of two old ladies bickering.

I find your argument to be quite shallow and pedantic.

Because, if the "big words" are used accurately and within the relevant context, it usually DOES. An argument doesn't have to be polite to be valid.

The insults are either because the original point is perceived as stupid to the point of offensiveness, or simply because the mudslinger in qestion is being an ass.

There are some mean people here but don't mind them sweetheart, just be strong and don't let them break you down. I have'nt been here in ages and was nearly driven to self harm through cruelty last time, but I have learned not to take idiots so seriously. It was my own fault for being weak and giving them what they wanted, I have grown up alot recently and realized that the trick is to not respond to the haters.

"Noone can make you feel inferior without your consent." DO NOT GIVE YOUR CONSENT TO THEM!!!!!!!!!

You are no doubt the biggest fucking moron on the board - and I've seen a few.

You're the type of twat who feels the need to speak even when there's nothing to be said.

Being "foreign" is no excuse either.

Check my profile for threads I have started, nearly all of them ended in extreme cruelty from other members. Though some were nice which is why I came back.

I did. That's not extreme cruelty; being beaten, rhaped, then starved is.

If you take this forum so seriously, to self harm, then get off it. Self harming over people, who you don't even know, making fun of you is pathetic.

But most irritatingly you threaten suicide then try to make people bear some burden of guilt over killing you.

I had some issues a while ago, like I said I have realized that it was my own fault for being weak enough to take the rambling's of idiots to heart. I'm not the person I was back then. BUT, people here were still horrible. Not all but some.

In some cases it is because they have an inferiority complex and need to put down others to make themselves feel better. They suffered terrible childhoods and their minds are forever warped around their pitiful pasts, repeating over and over behavior that gives them their emotional payoff of self delusional grandeur. Helpmann is an excellent example of this helpless kind of neurotic.

In other cases it is simply because people have achieved high levels of education and experience, and have the gift of intellect which brings critical thinking to bear on whatever they focus on, including these forums, and it is quite natural to them to apply such thinking without malice but also without sugarcoating the truth. Godslayer Jillian is an excellent example of this kind of intellectual.

Jillian laughed at me before because he assumed he was smarter, but in fairness he was one of the only ones who actually asked me about my religous beliefs. He is pretty intellectual.
