My Textiles project

Well. for textiles, my GCSE project is going to be a dress.
Im going to do it kinda like a corset dress.
Its going to have black and green panels in the top with black ribbon tying it at the back.
The skirt is going to be like a sort of longer tutu kinda skirt with layers in black and green.
Only problem is...
I dont have a clue how to get started as i can't find any similair sewing patterns anywhere.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about starting it?
Thanks.
Sophie

Sorry I can't be of any help as my dressmaking skills are severely lacking (as in non existant) but I just wanted to say it sounds gorgeous....I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the finished design

An introduction would be nice... I'm amazed you don't think it rude to post without one. *sigh* Chances are I don't like you already, but we'll see.

What type of corset are you thinking of? There are different sillouettes from different time periods. The flat front, long waist corset of Elizabeth I's time is very different from the wasp waist popular in Victoria's time.

A good resource for you might be the great pattern review. Look at someone else's project and how the pattern worked for them before you make a decision.
