Choice (Lament)

Oh well. I haven't written any proper poetry in years, so I decided to write down some of our lyrics here.

Within my heart and bitter tears
The choice remains to face my fears
and as I wait I wonder why
We still look up to darkened skies

Blown away, my last resort
A choice was made, Sorrow was bought

As I look back upon my life
Yes, I still curse the god of strife
The troubles laid upon my path
wrenched away all I ever had

Turning away from the light of day
Lost in the shadows, can't find my way
Trampling my resolve beneath your feet
How can I endure this hellfire's heat?

Blown away, my last resort
A choice was made, Sorrow was bought

You offer me your hand of fear
but I retreat as it draws near
as sorrow falls upon my path
the ghosts remain to haunt my past

I offer up my soul to keep
but fear has dragged me in too deep
and my life fades, my breath now spent
I offer up my last lament...

Thank you very much!

These are the lyrics to our band's demo song. As I've mentioned above, I haven't written any serious poetry in a while since I've been working on most of the band's lyrics (my poetry style is quite different from this).

It gave you ideas for a drawing? I feel honored

Love it. Original, yet perfect for song lyrics, as it uses simple vocabulary and rhymes, while still being descriptive of your emotional state. Very good. Post a link to the song please.

Thank you very much, HumanePain.

I've posted the link to our ReverbNation site on the Shill board. The song can be streamed from there.

Hehe, thanks, Rotting Corpse!

We have a few more songs in post-production, so there should be a few more up in the next few weeks

Hehe, ok.

Defined:

Your presence casts its shadows
I can feel it dimming me
Am I a victim of your gallows
that you have set inside for me?

My soul's yearning to be defined
And seeks an answer to be set free
It tires of blooming in a fool's garden
Define or refine me, or let me be

Am I a toy or a trinket
To be discarded far away?
Am I just false emotions
A trivial thought led astray?

I'm plagued by the dementia
You have planted within my soul
You have devoured every part of me
If you eat these words you'll have me whole...

My soul's yearning to be defined
And seeks an answer to be set free
It tires of blooming in a fool's garden
Define or refine me, or let me be

Thank you very much!

These are the lyrics of the next song we're probably going to post on our ReverbNation page.

HumanePain, Rotting Corpse, thank you both.

I guess I'll have to turn this thread into the Hexotericka Lyrics thread.

Well, here's an older one.

As Tears Turn to Rain

Let me feel how it feels to be alone
Let it be that I drown here on my own
Let me live as the rain comes down again

Let me taste the raindrops on your skin
Let me drown in your tears once again

Let me feel my heart torn asunder again
Let me drown as teardrops turn to rain

Let me taste the raindrops on your skin...

Yes, it's rather short, and not one of my best, but I'll post some of the others later today.

Thanks, Nevan!

I personally think that 'As Tears Turn to Rain' isn't all that great, well, not as good as the others, but thanks nonetheless.

I didn't think it wasn't as good the others, only written in a different style - I'd love to hear it with music.

Well, it's actually the lyrics to one of my previous band, Disciples of Sorrow's songs.

We actually did record it, but never put it on the net. I do have it on my office PC in MP3 format, though.

This one's a bit more suggestive...

Corpus et Sanguis

Blinded by the light
that shines from your beauty
Seducing me with kisses
My fallen deity

My goddess of passion
My angel of sin
Take me, and have me
Let the feast begin...

I give you Corpus et Sanguis
My body and my blood
Use me well. Corpus et Sanguis
Body and blood.

Brand me with your heat
Refuse to set me free
Drown me in your lust
A slave I shall be

My goddess of passion
My angel of sin
Take me, and have me
Let the feast begin...

I give you Corpus et Sanguis
My body and my blood
Use me well. Corpus et Sanguis
Body and blood.

Take me deep inside
Torture me and tease me
Break my will, control me
Your slave I shall be

My goddess of passion
My angel of sin
Take me, and have me
Let it all begin...

I give you Corpus et Sanguis
My body and my blood
Use me well. Corpus et Sanguis
Body and blood.

Hehe, thanks.

Actually, a lot of my lyrics have rather erotic undertones to them.
Hell, maybe I'm just a pervert (or extremely sexually frustrated...)
