Dark circles under your eyes..
I looked for a thread similar and I couldn't find it. If there is one that I, perhaps, am over looking I sincerely apologize.
I've been an insomniac for several years and I've always had a problem with dark circles under my eyes (do to not sleeping for long periods of time). I have thin and extremely pale skin, also I'm highly allergic to most cosmetics. I was curious if there was something hypoallergenic that could get rid of these circles?

I believe there are hypoallergenic eye care products that can help with the dark circles.
Have you asked the doctor about your insomnia? That might be the first place to look for help.

No health insurance at the moment, my Mom plans on taking me as soon as we can afford it.
But I'll look into hypoallergenic eye care products. I don't know if my town as them but I'll try online. =) Thank-you.

You're welcome. :] I suggest looking especially at Mary Kay products. I think they have a TON of hypo-all. stuff.

Mary Kay? I haven't heard of them before, I shall definitely look for them. Thank-you so much =), I'm rather desperate at this point. My family keep talking about how tired I look everyday. I really want them to stop worrying.

You are going to have trouble finding what you want at a low cost but Origins would be a good bet, they have a concealer that works well, doesn't irritate the skin of anyone that I know (some of whom do have allergic reactions to makeup), is safe for use around the eyes, and while it is a bit pricey a little goes a long way. Different people react to different things so you may just have to try out a bunch of brands to see what works for you. Oh and as for the best way to cover up the dark circles: stick with a concealer that has a bit of pink to it, even if you skin has yellow or olive undertones.

Origins, I'll definitely try to find it. I'm not too worried about buying several. True, I don't have a lot of cash at hand but not looking like a meth-addict is important lol. Thank-you very much =), I appreciate the advice.

You're welcome. There are some free standing Origins stores but they also have ones inside most Macys. You should be able to try it at the makeup counter and if you have no reaction then you can go back and buy some. Oh if you use a makeup brush make sure to clean it after using a product that has given you problems.

Clinique is a very safe bet for us sensitive ladies. Their cosmetics are hypoallergenic and tested on thousands of women before being sold. Xx

I looked at the site and I love that they have super pale foundations. I will definitely try them.

I think you should better go to a dermatological specialist for prescription rather than asking opinions of other people. try to sleep longer than your usual sleeping hours. you could use Sunglasses to somehow hide your "eyebags?"

I have glasses, so I cant wear sunglasses I'm afraid. As soon as we get money I have to go to a doctor for my insomnia, I cant afford both currently. And I ask for make-up advice because, I don't have much money for the doctor in the first place so I am looking for a cheaper alternative to hide the circles under my eyes, until I can get to said doctor. I wouldn't have asked if I knew more about make-up. Also the people here know what the hell they are talking about and I thought it would be a good place to ask. And lol if I had the ability to sleep longer than going (working on) my 4th night without sleep I wouldn't be asking it the first place hahaha... =D Thank-you for the advice.

I'm an insomniac, too! Yay! =D
Although I've been really sick lately, thus taking meds, thus making me sleep more, thus making me SICKER...
Point: Disregarding cosmetics, as that has been covered and beaten to death.
Try sleeping propped up on a massive amount of pillows. I tried it, and my bags weren't nearly as black as normal after a week.
Also, freeze some spoons: in the morning, take them out, and press them onto your eyelids. It makes them a wee bit more awake, and helps in case you have any bagginess. Be careful, though: after a particularly bad nightmare, one night, my eyelashes froze to the spoon. : \
Um, you can also put tea bags (used, either frozen or fresh) over your eyes to combat bruising and swelling.
Also, I've heard you can do strange things with cucumbers, but I'm deathly allergic so I have no idea. : ]

The cucumber slices work much like the tea bags, though I have heard that they don't work quite as well since they don't have caffeine in them

I've noticed that I am getting these too.
I normally don't go to sleep until 1-2 am, and have to get up at 6:40-7 am for work. I have a hard time falling asleep sometimes.
The spots under my eyes are sometimes very noticeable.
heh I noticed that my ex left some of her expensive eye creme in my bathroom so I'm going to try that and see if it helps.

Yay! Cheapness! Haha.. I have never heard about freezing spoon before or propping myself up with pillows at night. I shall definitely try this, this week. Thank-you. I'm sorry to hear you are sick.. I was sick all last week, it made sleeping so much harder than normal.. I hope you get well soon =)

Sometimes if you play your favorite song, particularly one that is a ballad. Turning your stereo down really low, might help you relax and sleep sooner. It used to work for me.

You could hide them with special concealer. I heard somwhere that u should look for a concealer with a bit of GREEN in it... yea it sounds weird but this makes your eyes look less dark underneath. Put a foundation on top and done! this is not a permanent solution, but it's definately worth a try. Good luck!

No green, green cancels out redness so it is good for pimples (at least so I have heard) but you need something that will brighten the under eye area and green just wont do the trick.

Yellow concealer can be used to cancel out the purple-blue, but I really don't think it works well.
Quality concealer and a brightener/highlighter = the way to go. Good makeup > cheap makeup any day.

I have several of the Arcane Magic eyeshadows, and they are FANTASTIC. WAY better in person, and a sample lasts foreverrrrr.
I also have their foundation, and lip lustre, and eye inks, and regular eyeshadow..
