Do you like screwdrivers? Vodka's pretty easy to find on the cheap it seems and then you can mix as you go in the OJ jug Or swig them straight from the bottles, chaser style!
So far today I'm having home made hazelnut lattes

Canadian Whisky and blush wine.
Not together, just in two different glasses.

I'll second the vote for vodka. And unlike a lot of other alcohol, the taste of vodka doesn't take that big of a hit when you go cheap. Add a cheap mixer and you're home free. Besides the orange juice screwdriver, you could make the following:
VODKA PUNCH
Ingredients to use:
* 0.5 gal Cheap Vodka
* 1 gal Fruit Juice
Directions:
Get the cheapest Vodka you can find, get a large bowl, mix 1/2 gallon cheap vodka with 1 gallon Hawaiian Punch, then watch everyone else pretend like it's really good. (Okay, that's not my line ... I just copied it with the recipe.)
CAPE CODDER
Ingredients:
* 3 oz cranberry juice
* 2 oz vodka
* lime wedge for garnish
Preparation:
1. Pour the ingredients into a highball glass with ice cubes.
2. Stir well.
3. Squeeze the lime juice into the drink.
4. Drop the lime wedge into the glass.
Vodka and cranberry juice is simple and a great drink anytime. A bottle of cranberry juice can be found for around less than $2 and if you add that to an inexpensive bottle of vodka you'll have Cape Codders for days at minimal cost.
LEMON DROP MARTINI
Ingredients:
* 1 1/2 oz vodka
* 3/4 oz lemon juice
* 1 tsp sugar syrup
* lemon twist for garnish
Preparation:
1. Pour the vodka, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a shaker with ice cubes.
2. Shake well.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
4. Garnish with the lemon twist.
Vodka, lemon juice and sugar combine for an elegant, yet low cost drink. Pucker up for this sour cocktail that makes a great dessert drink.
Here's a page listing the 6 best brands of vodka for $10 or less.
Also, you can get a cheap rum and mix it with Coke. A rum and coke is a pretty good and inexpensive drink too. Easiest cocktail to make that you could ask for.
Bacardi rum is decent at a good price.

All of those vodkas in ben's link are good, just don't take the step down to something really bottom rung like Vlad, it may be really cheap but it takes a whole lot of mixing before that shit is drinkable and nothing can make it actually taste good.

Just polished off a screwdriver with a splash of grenadine. Is there a special name for that? Judging from where the Vodka hit on the line on the glass I should be out like a light pretty soon, but hasn't hit me yet.
