I have come to the conclusion that I really need to put myself back together and start doing the things that make me happy. My life consists of 60% work, 20% sleep and 20% boyfriend. It's horrible. I don't play guitar anymore, I don't write music anymore, I don't draw or paint anymore, and I barely read. I've forgotten how to do the things that I'm actually good at. It's really bad. So I'm going to try and dedicate some time after work to do at least one of these things every day.

Yeah, it is difficult to juggle all of that stuff. One thing that may help is to keep your art supplies out in the spaces you hang out in the most at home.. or stick them in a bag and take them with you to places.

I didn't see any caribou or whales, but I did see a seal. But I didn't have my camera on hand. I saw rabbits and gray jays (who have big beautiful, cartoonish eyes, I swear) so my pictures are blurry (my camera doesn't seem to have a OUTDOOR BRIGHT DAY NO NEED FOR FLASH setting, and I didn't have the manual with me) and pretty well shit.

Still, I had a lot of fun, it was really relaxing. I just took a long shower though and I still smell like smoke.

Saya I love camping. The trouble is I never want to come back.

I saved a dog from being roadkill today. It was a staffy mutt. Poor thing I was yelling at it (in a nice way) to get off the road, then it followed me across the road, and I eventually manhandled it with another lady to get the phone number of the owner.

It took two of us to hold the dog in one place while he came to collect it. It was one of those dogs that is all muscle and no fat and couldn't sit still and didn't have an ounce of obedience training.

Baby bat just sat in the pram, eating his celery chatting to the world, while his mum dog wrestled.

Thank goodness I've been around dogs my entire life, and am a pretty good judge of character.

Good work there, Fruitbat. I hope the owner was suitably appreciative.

Apparently me in a good mood = cleaning spree.
Earlier today I spent nearly a full hour running the Dyson in the downstairs extra bedroom which used to be home for two of our cats. I made several passes on the floor, then put the thing in hose mode and did a pretty good job of getting the extra shedded fur off the cat tree so when the manbat and I move the thing upstairs we won't look like we morphed into cats!

LOL!!

Fruitbat's man is Mr Bat - although there are days when I could just give him away - luckily for him, today is not one of those days!

Although Carakitty is more than welcome to come on over and vacuum my house.

Rain rain rain. And I have to go and buy guineapig food, and bedding. But then I shall lounge about drawing on my shiny new sketchpads so all is well ^___^

I gave my notice last night, only got a week of work left! Then a week off, then school (I put in for vacation time ages ago and forgot about it, so she said I might as well just give one week's notice). I'm actually kinda sad, I honestly did like the job and I'm gonna miss everyone. They make students take a lot of hours though, at least during the Christmas rush so I really can't do it this semester.

Intentional or unintentional irony?

On the Saturday night broadcast of the ABC World News program, one soldier, among the many returning home due to the troop withdrawal from Iraq, said:

"We came. We saw. We helped some people."

Hmmm ...

Maybe it wasn't all bad then. There's no news like bad news but the soldiers on the ground would know the real story.

Although I'm still not convinced about the WMD's.

I was just seeing irony in the soldier's unintentional (or was it?) parodying of Julius Caesar's "I came. I saw. I conquered."

Indeed. I suppose for a given value of "help" it could mean the same thing.
