Is there no Goth scene in Lexington???

It's Lexington, Ky, and I just wonder if there really are no other Goths or if, like the Graffiti scene, it's all underground, hidden and invisable, like under bridges and shit. Anyone?

I would love to! I hear there are actually goth clubs there, where I could burn off this insomnia! They have a much bigger graffiti scene, too... I see Louisville writers up on trains all the time. It's all invisible graff here.... under bridges that run over creeks and stuff. Amazing, incredible peices, though. I may look into going to Bellarmine, but people tell me that Berea is free...
But about those clubs, are they mostly Industrial, or is there some Deathrock? I wouldn't know!

It's a little bit of everything, and every now and then, we'll have an old-school goth and deathrock night. This weekend's theme is ZOMBIES, and will feature a Cristal Roc song. Whoo whoo, represent. ;P

I'm at Mark's (the DJ who runs goth night) house right now.. I'll bug him for another all-ages night, and let you know when it is.

At the moment, we don't have a place to host all-ages nights, so it's looking like there might be a few at my house. XD
I'll keep you updated.

Be warned. About 80% of that scene in Louisville is full of shit heads and uninteresting people. Yes, I fucking said it. But if you're going to kick it at K's house, then you'll be good to go. The Louisville scene is quite a bit more punk/indie than Goth/Deathrock. Before I left, I think there was at most... 5 or 6 deathrockers? Other than that, it's a rivethead town.

The place I've found that seems to still be up + running is Double Daughters. Not specifically Goth, but looks Goth-friendly. Found lots of listings of places that have been dead for several years

Please, share with me what you've found?

Lexington KY isn't a city, it's a glorified suburb with a college and a downtown.

So no, there is no Goth scene there - Just a bunch of pretentious twats.

It makes me sad, I now live closer to work but I'm also farther from the Wave, at least I usually have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, which works out since Doom n' Gloom in on Tuesdays. Shame there isn't really anything on this side of Newport News or up in Williamsburg.

I'm slowly finding more. They're just in hiding.

DJ Silicon played at a few clubs in Louisville that I have heard of. More of him that the club actually. Still Louisville is the place to be at.

If there's no scene, start one? Parties (live music or no) are always the way to go. DIY or die my friend

I'm hoping to revive this thread a decade later. So weird to think it's been that long...
Anyway, hi. I'm Elijah. I've perused this site on and off for a while now and I've recently been getting into the goth subculture. I've always liked dark things and over the last couple months have felt a strong call to goth and everything it represents. As a babybat, I'm looking for people in my area to associate with and learn from. I'm pretty new to Lexington and have yet to discover any trace of goth subculture here.

I lived near Lexington from 2008 to 2014. I identified Goth and one night, a local club held a Goth Night. I attended with my then girlfriend and it was great. However, it was held at a swingers club, and it was great fun to watch the two normie couples walk in, sit down, look around, and leave without ordering!

This is all good to know about Kentucky, because I've actually been considering the possibility of relocating there. Good to know but it sucks [figures] if a lot of what exists there in the scene are mostly shitheads. Seems to be true almost elsewhere else well these days. The whole scene is muddled with emo hipsters, cancel culture freakzoids and the Rainbow Mafia. The Goth scene wasn't all about this stupid crap back in the 80's and 90's.

Check out alternative clubs, among us io bars, or venues that host Goth or alternative-themed nights. Even in smaller cities, you may find occasional events catering to these subcultures.
