I tried quitting cold turkey, too. The bad news is that I failed. The good news is that I only smoke about a pack a month, now, and I think I'm ready to spread it out further.

Just do it. I feel rather a lot better since I quit. Just go for it and never touch another cigarette. Anyone can stop. It's easy once you get past day 3-4.

Big deal, quitting cold turkey. I quit all forms of poultry in general. Suck on that one.

It can happen. Most cold turkey attempts fail, but sometimes they go. Sometimes people fail again and again before they finally beat it on try 713 or whatever. I know more than one person like that.

You can do it.

This makes me curious, whats harder, quitting all animal products cold turkey or quitting smoking cold turkey?

well, I made it 2 and a half days without a cig. I had to buy some. I was shaking and sweating and lightheaded constantly. I am going to try again after the holidays and this time I think I will try the patch so I am not going into nicotine withdrawal shock.

You could try and get your friends and colleagues to help you. Just tell them to take your cigarettes off you if you're feeling compelled to smoke. A friend of mine did this and pulled through.

Do what you have to do, but at least you're making attempts. I am to understand its rough for the first week or so, but once you manage to get past that you'll be laughing.

Do any replacement products work for you? Nicotine Gum/inhalers ect? Any quit smoking groups being run by health centres near you perhaps?

I only smoke 1-2 per day myself, it doesn't bother me in the slightest to go without a cigarette if I don't have any.

I would think that staying on hydrocodone would cause lightheadedness and shaking more than quitting it would.

Try an herbal smoking blend, and wean yourself off it. I can recommend a website, if you're interested.

Well , you'll see if after the holidays you'll quit or not ... But as Saya said , at least you are trying , and as long as you keep trying , you'll win one day .
To me the worst was the cultural influences . That's why I came back ...

Unless you've been smoking since you were a few months old, I'm going to give this one to animal products. Besides, cigarettes aren't in almost every type of food imaginable. There isn't a warning for allergy ingredients saying Wheat, milk, soy, and tobacco.

Good luck*
