The Steelers win in OT! Woohoo! And I make damn good sandwiches with which to watch them win.

I have no appetite tonight for dinner and neither does DH due to his illness.
I think I"ll nuke some Mac + Cheese and chicken nuggets for the kid and have a cocktail.

I think I have run out of places to put wedding presents. Jake and I really need to start getting rid of our old stuff.

I'm so excited. International talk like a pirate day is on sep 19. I can't wait!

http://www.talklikeapirate.com/howto.html

I think I'm just going to use Arrr. Although I might try a few of these on Mr Bat and see if I get lucky. Of course I'll have to change them around so they are girl appropriate.

10 . Avast, me proud beauty! Wanna know why my Roger is so Jolly?

9. Have ya ever met a man with a real yardarm?

8. Come on up and see me urchins.

7. Yes, that is a hornpipe in my pocket and I am happy to see you.

6. I'd love to drop anchor in your lagoon.

5. Pardon me, but would ya mind if I fired me cannon through your porthole?

4. How'd you like to scrape the barnacles off of me rudder?

3. Ya know, darlin’, I’m 97 percent chum free.

2. Well blow me down?

And the number one pickup line for use on International Talk Like a Pirate Day is …

1. Prepare to be boarded.

It seems as though if there is any sort of booze in the house I must consume at least some of it every night it is here. If the house is dry I can tolerate it because I know it is out there and I can get it again but it's comforting to always have some sort of booze in the house though.

Oh, Fruitbat, thankee for reminding me of International Talk Like A Pirate Day.

I needed reminding, because none of the scurvy bilge rats around here could be bothered to mention it!

^ but with Chocolate

Ben Arrr, me matie, Arr!

I think I'm going to use this one on Mr Bat.

Avast, me proud beauty! Wanna know me why your Roger is so Jolly?

But then I think "Prepare to be boarded" is probably a bit more obvious, since he's going to refuse to speak like a pirate.

I've already told him I'm wearing a tiara for my birthday this year - for the entire day. I'd wear fairy wings but I think that might be pushing it - since it's a milestone birthday and I'm not having a party (bought a blasted house instead) and I am over 6 years old.

Although I could get away with some halloween costume.. hmm... I'll have to think about that one.

Fruitbat, one of the magic things about getting older is that we gain some measure of experience and, hopefully, wisdom. And this should lead us more and more to care less and less what others think.

Wear the tiara. Wear the fairy wings proudly if you want. If you really need a justification, fairy costumes are used for Halloween all the time. Mr. Bat will just have to accept that his role that day is to step aside of his own concerns and help you be happy ... it IS, after all, your day!

Thanks Ben. I'll see what I can find in the shops.

Trying to decide whether to go to a high school reunion or not. It's a big one 40 years of students are invited. But it's going to cost $500 to get there, and I really didn't enjoy highschool and I'm not interested in any of that "Oh I'm so much better than you" crap that is usually associated with such events.

But on the flipside it might be an interesting experience and part of me is curious about what the guys that I had a crush on look like now. I'll have to procrastinate on it a bit more.

Random things I'm thinking about at the moment.

1. Why is it that I can drink a fifth of whiskey and be pleasantly buzzed, but give me a few cheap beers and I'm smashed? I guess that's good, though. I can enjoy an entire bottle of good whiskey, but if I want to get smashed, it's cheap.

2. I am in a punk band at the moment, bass and backing vocals. I persuaded the drummer (who started the band with me) to do a cover of Alice by Sisters. Since we're going for an old-school punk with hint of goth anyway, it wasn't hard. We're also doing a Damned cover.

3. I wish my friend Germy would hurry up and get his new debit card. He owes me dinner and drinks, and he's always fun to drink with. He's my bitch, even though he's over a foot taller than me and outweighs me by a good 100 pounds.
Observe:

4. I've got work at 7:30 tomorrow morning.. watching a two year old and a four year old until 12:30. Then give four hour-long massages. Then come home and study for the midterm exam I have on Tuesday and just remembered I have.

5. This coffee is really good, per usual. Quills is great.

6. I need to buy a 1/2" drill bit and install a peephole on my front door.

7. I think in a bit I'll show up at my friend Jack's, watch Antichrist again, and eat his food.

AWESOME.

Hey Korinna/Anyone who might know.

You did massage or took classes or something, right?
I have a question.

So I got a massage the other day, and it was really good, pretty standard massage, whatev. Except there was A LOT of ass massage. I know your butt is a big giant muscle and you use it to walk and sit and stand and everything, but like...just...a really REALLY strong focus on the ass.

Is that a specific style of massage, or what?
I've gotten massages before, and typically they include that area, but they don't keep going back to it over and over again.

Did you go in to have any specific problems addressed, or was it a relaxation massage?

And yeah.. I'm almost through massage therapy school. I'll be licensed in December.

It was just for relaxation.
I mean, I have chronic back pain, so I go because it makes it feel better for a day or two, but I didn't mention it.

Hm.. if the MT noticed something during assessment or during the initial glute work, that might be why.
If you go back, just ask

Uni is fucking hectic, Got there two days ago. Vommed up blood and then went out for the night. I'm still alive so I guess it's not too dangerous.

One day I was asked to evaluate a new model car. I wrote on the form "The windscreen wipers cannot keep up with light rain at 180km/h."

I am so doing this one day.. except there won't be anyone else in the car with me, so I can red line everything!

Hahahaha, are you trying to say "orgasm" or did you spontaneously, asexually reproduce by budding when you saw the car? XD

I turned Junky (by Burroughs) into a drinking game last night. Good times.
A shot every time he mentions drugs.
I started with vodka, ran out of vodka, and switched to bourbon.
Then I fell asleep.

Also: I prefer Junky over Naked Lunch. That is all.

History is depressing. I keep hoping China is going to have a happy ending, but no, we haven't even gotten to Genghis Khan yet.

Also, Legalism is the most douchey of all philosophies.

Crap! Damn my fumbling memory! Apologies to Sir Ian McKellen for the misspelling.
