Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

I have a pet hate for all converse products. But I think that's because they're owned by nike...

I find Converse shoes quite hideous to be honest, but it's cool when people jazz them up a bit, making them less... Conversey.

I don't know Raptor, I was thinking of using a machine, but the other colors thing sounds pretty good too, I hate freehand sowing, I'm no good at it.

I don't have a sewing machine, or know how to use one, so I have no idea if they need any different kinds of thread. I imagine that it would say in the instructions for it?
You can always use the contrasting colours thing with the machine anyway.
My sewing is pretty poor, but it holds together at least. Use safety pins to keep everything together while you do it.
Pretty sweet Maxim

Their assault boots are the second most comfortable piece of footwear I've ever owned, after a pair of Berghaus hiking boots.

I wore an old beat up black pair of Converse 8 eyelet All-Stars back in grade 7.
My best friend had gotten a new pair of shoes, and he gave them to me.
I think he ripped off the logo, because I don't recall seeing any big round thin on the side. This was probably back in 1999.
I loved those shoes, and I think I will buy a brand new pair. But I will do what Jack did, draw over the logo, and what Malice did, draw on the toe part.

I keep seing people drawing of stuff! What the fuck is it? I heard something called a paint pen? Is that what you guys use to draw on leather vests, boots and all sorts of cloth!? Let me know what to do OK?
I am tired of sitting in the shadow of other peoples' DIY things.

I use fine acrylic paints on leather.
But really Opteron, don't stress out over getting the exact, perfect techniques for everything, as prescribed by people here. Half of DIY is experimenting, innovating, and figuring out ways of doing things your OWN way.

Opteron d00d, I use fabric paint and just draw stuff with the bottle. For larger areas I just kinda squirt it on and use a brush.

Thanks Haunted House! That is what I will look for in the store.
But will that stuff stay on leather jeackets, rubber and fabric converse shoes?

I thought you were the one that didn't like them?
Didn't I say they were worth downloading but not paying for?

Wait, was I?
I think you did say that about not paying for them... but surely that was because I didn't have any of their stuff at that point? So it can't have been me that said it!
I take it you do like them now in any case : p

I seem to remember you mentioning them being on a compilation you ordered.
And wanting to know if they were worth ordering a CD.
And I was like, "dude not worth money."
And yeah they're wicked as long as I don't think of how scary they look...

Hah, I started a Scary Bitches thread ages ago and everyone said they sucked. Totally lowered my opinion of Gnet's taste and sense of humour.

Haha.
I love their cover of The Munsters theme tune.
Although I do understand why people don't like them...

So I had heard them even before that compilation... I don't remember posting in that thread at all.
