Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Acid
defintily Lords Of Acid. how can any one miss them? And NIN is so not techno! They are far to dark to be that and too many words. they fall under industrial. so does Prodigy.
Lords Of Acid...

Cake or death?
 Why does every one forget about the D-Devils? They are great techno. Dark and fun. So all of you should get naked and dance with the devil.

Electronic is one of my favorities genres in music. I recommend to listen more Synth Pop and IDM than Techno.
For Synth Pop my favorities are:
New Order " Bizarre Love Triangle", Yaz " Don't go", Modern English "I Melt For You", Animotion "Obsession", The Postal Service "Such Great Heights", and I think Depeche Mode " A Broken Frame" is classify like Synth Pop too.
For IDM (Inteligent Dance Music) my favorites are:
Kraftwerk "Tour of France", Autechre, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, etc. You can go to www.warprecords.com and see a lot more of this group. Also, you can look for more in www.shematic.net and listen to Richard Devine, Otto Von Schirach and Phoenecia. In www.morrmusic.com look for Lali Puna, Isan, and Guther.
This are some that I really enjoy, but you are going to find many many groups. I hope you will like it.

Rammstein is industrial which is where I he was trying to get at in the first place. See the words techno and band don't go together ever... Industrial was a fusion of both worlds of techno and metal.

That would be more along the lines of Industrial, not Techno.
Let me give you a list of some Techno Producers:
Danilo Vigarito
Carl Cox
WJ Henze
Hurtz
Guy McAffer
D.A.V.E. The Drummer
Adam Beyer
Patrick Skoog
Glenn Wilson
Paul Mac
Ben Long
Adam X
Rino Cerrone
Markantonio
That's just a start.

*looks at the choices and twitches* I think I'll have to add Psyclon Nine, Tactical Sekt, Aslan Faction and This Morn Omina (among others) to that list. More industrial techno, but I'm into the harder and edgier industrial sounds. I'll also go for artists like Ophidian, N Vitral, Armageddon Project and Peaky Pounder if you're going to get technical about it.

Need help in identifying new techno band
We are launching a site that will be focusing in having great bands that are not famous enabling streaming of their songs and download on their songs.
The music will be royalty free avoiding any copyrights problem but we will pay bands per download. This will be a great way for bands to get paid for songs they will create while not being famous.
Can anyone help me with a list of contacts of bands that could fit this profile? Thank you.
By the way, anyone willing to help us please do, we would like to have other types of music too so any advice and help is appreciated.

NIN, techno ? Are you kidding or what ?
And not putting Underworld on your list is like forgetting Bauhaus in a batcave poll.

I voted for prodigy but I think there are lots of better techno bands such as Lords of Acid or, like erotomaniac87 said, Crystal Castles. Oh and Nine Inch Nails aren't really techno.
