Was the 90s the greatest decade?

It seems to me that the 90s might have been the greatest decade for the US in terms of being able to relax. Throughout the 20th century we had a wide variety of problems. For this I shall first review a few things I know about the other decades

1900s-meh
10s-spanish flu, titanic, world war I
20s-prohibition, rise of the soviet union, hitler writes mein kampfy chair
30s-depressing
40s-just what we need, a sequel to WW1
COLD WAR "I'd prefer a straight fight to all this sneaking around."
50s-cold war, two wars in asia,
60s-cold war, cuban missile crisis, Kennedy dead, Nixon not dead, ability to destroy the world with the press of a button.
70s-cold war, Iranian revolution, pol pot, US runs low on gas 1.0
80s-cold war, afganistan 1.0, iran- iraq war, libya 1.0,

90s-breathe easy with the cold war over and listen to the president play the saxophone, enjoy all the tech we developed through all those tense years, discover internet porn, bomb the middle east and midwest while we watch it from our living rooms.

2000s-9 months into the new millennium and we're already at war, afganistan 2.0(aka "wow that came back and bit us in the ass"),iraq, US runs low on gas 2.0, economy goes down and takes one in the ass harder than a pornstar, reality tv is born, confirm that the world climate is fucked with a power point presentation:P
2010s-SOPA,PIPA,ACTA, that one military arrest civilians law, Libya 2.0,

I say all this because I'm quite likely biased since I was just a young child in the 90s, so I want to see if anyone else agrees.

The Mujahideen and Taliban aren't the same, man.

And I didn't really like the music scene in the 90's. Maybe it's just me.

I realized the other day that a lot of people look at the nineties now in the way that we used to look at the eighties when we were in the mid-late nineties. A time with mostly bad music, bad fashion, but not a care in the world. And it wasn't the case. We had the Gulf War, ethnic cleansing in Yugoslavia, Clinton's failure to barter peace between Israel and Palestine, the WTO protests and riots, the LA Riots, boy bands.

Anyway, Kennedy was just as bad as Nixon, and LBJ made Kennedy's mess even worse and left it all for Nixon. Not saying he should have died, but its not fair to say Nixon should have instead.

It really just depends on you...if you've survived heroin addiction you probably hate the 90s. For good reason, too.

Yo listen up here's a story
About a little guy that lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees
Is just blue like him inside and outside
Blue is his house with a blue little window
And a blue corvette
And everything is blue for him and himself
And everybody around
Cuz he ain't got nobody to listen to

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die

I have a blue house with a blue window
Blue is the color of all that I wear
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
Blue are the people here that walk around
Blue like my corvette, it's standing outside
Blue are the words I say and what I think
Blue are the feelings that live inside me

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die

I have a blue house with a blue window
Blue is the color of all that I wear
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
Blue are the people here that walk around
Blue like my corvette, it's standing outside
Blue are the words I say and what I think
Blue are the feelings that live inside me

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die

Inside and outside blue his house
With the blue little window and a blue corvette
And everything is blue for him and himself
And everybody around cause he ain't got
Nobody to listen to

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die

Run away! Run away! Run away and save your life! You've got to break free! Before it's too late, follow me I think it's this way! I saw the sign over there, I opened up my eyes and I saw the sign. Or are you not ready yet? Don't worry just go on the roof tops and shout it out baby I'm ready to go. Don't worry if they knock you down as we're escaping you'll get up again, they're never going to keep you down. Then we can piss the night away with some whiskey, vodka, lager, and cider, we'll sing some songs that remind you of the good times, and of the better times.

I still can't accept 90s music being referred to as "retro". Its still to soon for that.

As decades go, the 90s were rather characterless.

How was the 90's characterless? and think about it...1990 was 22 years ago, i think it totally qualifies as retro.

Some of it was dire though. I remember satin trousers being so totally rad during the 90's and looking back, they sucked.

Where is this picture from? I rather like the look she has going there. Unlike alot of the more modern styles which look like an attempt to bring back disco from the dead.

I am thankful for Alice In Chains and Soundgarden. Heroin addiction never sounded so good.
