I want to play this. I want it to be the zombie survival horror that I know we all wish to have.

But I just found out recently that DayZ is going independent as its own thing.

I'm ambivalent to this. It sounds like it should be cool, but it looks too streamlined.

Reading the reviews, it strikes me as something as involved as ME as far as story and character goes. But apparently the gameplay seems more like an interactive movie with QTEs instead of an actual game.

Not sure if that's worth it.

I just played the demo.

It's basically a point - and - click adventure game. It's a bit different as the action isn't completely rigid. It is rigid because you don't have organic control of the combat; but the story is pretty engaging and the interaction with the game is exciting.

Basically, you would love this... if you like point and click adventure games.

I really liked the moral gravity that was represented in the trailers and I think that's enough to sell me on it.

Just wondering; is it scary at all?

The moral gravity is def there. There's some people that you think are totally worthy and off limits and there's some people that you just fucking can not stand and you really wonder if it's worth trying to save them or not.

SO FAR...

Couple of things I've noticed. The lead actor is a POC who doesn't seem like a stereotype and that's interesting. And then the actual group you run into is ran by a woman at first.

So it's pretty cool so far as I can tell. I like the cast. The characters are engaging and interesting. Things are tense as fuck and there are moments where things just seem to rip your damned heart out.

Good stuff so far.
