I want to DJ Gothic music, please give advice/critique my first playlist!

Greetings all! To summarize my situation, I've accumulated quite a copious collection of music, Goth in particular, my first two years of college, and instead of just listening to this stuff alone in the woods, am now hoping to espouse the genre over university radio. To this end I've already devised a draft playlist of 60 songs, running a tad over four hours for what I hope might sustain a midnight to 4AM slot, which is listed below for your scrutiny. Although more pressingly of course, is a need of advice on the profession itself, for as it stands I presently possess no contacts within the practice and only rudimentary computer skills. Which said, this is simply something I am solely interested in as a hobby, sans any foolish assumptions of commercial expectations. Although I am open to any opinions against me pursuing this activity at all. (I might very well be immature on the matter, but anywho..)

Playlist Information-
The choice and ordering of songs reflects my intention to make an introductory set, for college radio listeners yet familiar with the style, as opposed to live clubbing. Also, I originally had only 30 songs planned before succumbing to an urge to keep going, but those are still ordered as my core selection, with Slice O' Life as an intended finale, something weird yet beautiful to be drawn into by the earlier, more accessible stuff, whereas my selections became especially haphazard near the final quarter.

I can't help you with the DJing, but you've got some good songs in there. I can always suggest some of my favourites if you want ideas for sets.

I've heard and found some good stuff lately, and have a few old favourites... hope you enjoy these ones as much as I do.

Awesome songs I've been unable to find for sale in digital format because I think they're rarities or something(?), but really should be checked out.

Guillotine - Of A Mesh
Exterminating Angel - The Creatures
Naturtrane or Born In Xixax - Nina Hagen

Some deathrockishness. (I see you already have Scary Bitches)

Ignore The Machine, Boneshaker Baby, I Walk The Line, Now I'm Feeling Zombified - Alien Sex Fiend (so good)

She Cries Alone - Skeletal Family
Sharp Teeth Pretty Teeth - Specimen
Baby Turns Blue - Virgin Prunes

Traditional 'Goth'/postpunkish sort of stuff

Deliverance - The Mission
Flood II - Sisters Of Mercy
Ruins - O Children
Breathe The Fire - Soft Moon
Seele In Not (Metus Mix) - Lacrimosa
Shadowdance - Eyes Of The Nightmare Jungle
Snake Dance - March Violets
Rakim - Dead Can Dance
How It Came To Be This Way - Autumn
Sex Beat - Sex Beat

Dead Souls - Joy Division (They always play 'She's Lost Control', but never this )

Eloise - The Damned

And the clubs in Melbourne often play some pop in there for the lulz when we're good and drunk.

Sex Dwarf - Soft Cell
Monster Mash - Bobby Pickett

...I have more of the miscellaneous variety that would be enjoyed by goths but isn't strictly in the genre. (Einsturzende Neubauten, Nick Cave, The Flir, Blouse, Apocalyptica, Dead Kennedys, The Glove) Plus anything that is but was forgotten...

Let me know if you need more and I can spam thee once again.

I suggest the bands Screams for Tina, Big Electric Cat and A Spectre is Haunting Europe. All the A Spectre is Haunting Europe albums used to be available as single track free downloads on last.fm. Not sure if they are still there though

Thank you greatly for the assistance Acharis I'm familiar with maybe half of these bands and much of the remainder sound quite promising, so I'll begin augmenting my collection right now.(nearly 70 GB's so far...) Anywho, feel free to song spam me anytime, especially with miscellany! On which note, Billy Idol's Neuromancer is a pleasingly compatible song, I'd want to mix that in a general Goth set along with some New Wave, near the end.

And MissCheyenne, might I ask what your favorite song by Screams For Tina is? They were one of the first Goth bands I started listening to actually, yet it seems like they are very rarely mentioned, generally speaking.

Just wanted to add, but by the holies, I listened to "This Old Oscillator" and it sparked my audio-emotions superbly! Pertaining to which, how adverse are you to hugs MC? (much gratitude for the recommendation)

I rather like Screams for Tina's Eleven Eleven myself. I love a good hug, few things make my day more than a quality hug

Thanks for the link CP! And as for musical spelunking in general, I'm just going to list here some recordings I've been trying but unable to find online.

Babel 17, Shades, 1991
Morticia, Nightmares, 1991
The Evil Speaks, Deny The Cross, 1992
The Jet Black Berries, Animal Necessity, 1988
The Texas Vamps, In Harms Way (need a recording where track 2 isn't scratched out of existence halfway through)
Neutral Project, all recordings except "Comme un Oiseau de Proie", which alone I could find

That's all I can name of the top of my head, moment being

No worries Porl, I intend to discover some bands from your set too.

I'm really digging this one at the moment. Swamp Thing - The Chameleons UK

Happy to hear, have you listened to their songs "Don't Fall" and "Perfume Garden" also? But back to the playlist, here's a particular recommendation. (fills me with energy!)
The Danse Society, Clock

I only skimmed through the first post (and just barely)...

But it never hurts to throw in the odd, out of place Sparks number into any mix, I think.

Not a Goth band, but they go with everything, dammit.

Also, it might be funny to see how pissy and confused people get when it comes on.
