I dunno. There is a group there called Carnivale Macabre thats pretty good(in case you're looking).
I may go back eventually but , for the time being, I'm happy on hiatus.

Darn. I'll let you know if we ever finish forming one.

Thanks for the club reference. I think that might be the one my best friend is part of. I will check it out.

i've been wanting to post some of my daughter's work for a while, but my scanner & xp have a love-hate relationship. instead, i ended up just taking crappy pictures of some of her drawings, so the poor quality is my fault, not hers.

i wish i could have found her newer sketch book that has some of her better stuff in it. i may do that later.

and this is her version of me.... the white blocks at the top are where i erased my name in the background.

This is my art hope that you guys like it!
I'd consider my art some times as fan art...because I draw them thinking of a other character.

Wow!! She's amazing!!! That's how I was at that age... she's got some talent. I hope you encourage her every effort (my parents didn't and I resent them for that)

*proud parental grin* yeah. she ROCKS OUT LOUD! heh. we've always encouraged her, especially when she gets frustrated and wants to give up. she is soooo critical of herself. (gee. dunno where she gets that from. )

seriously. we should own stock in prang, the general pencil company, and the bienfang paper company... especially that last one, as she goes through sketch books on the average of one a month.

she's currently working on her rendition of ed from fullmetal alchemist. (i'm pretty sure she has a crush on him, but shhhhhh. don't tell her i told you that.) she wants me to post it when she's done.

i let her read your last comment, sanctus, and she squealed & did her happy dance.

oh, and she says you're pretty good, too.

Lol!! Ya know I have a site where I teach the youngens a bit about drawing, I'll PM it to you if she's interested. There are quite a few kiddo's there who are very helpful to the learning... and every last one of them is accepting, very family like.

Hey Babe, the girl's a natural!!! Definately pic her up a copy of Anatomy for the Artist, it's a great help if you can't get live models!! It is a bit pricey, though. I got mine on clearance, but in the long run the money you spend encouraging her will pay off, like it hasn't already!

ooohhhhh! thanks, hon. which one, though? i just checked out amazon & there are two books by that exact title; one by sarah simblet & john davis, the other by jeno barcsay.

i'm thinking it's the latter, because that's the more expensive one.

othefuckwell-your girl is really talented!

you can also download the loomis books for free-they are out of print, that's why they were put online-great source for composition, persepctive, and constructive anatomy.
Unfortuatley you have to save it page for page.

and here's the link:

http://www.saveloomis.org/

I have them as .pdf files, but I don't have a space and enough bandwidth for uploading and sharing them, I cold send you a cd though.

And Bridgman's books abot constructive anatmy are qute cheap and were very helpful, at least for my brother and me.

OTFW ~ It's Jeno Barcsay. But it's helpful to know the skeletal structure and musculature to advance in art. I even have a book on drawing Manga figures. I just bought it for the boobies, though.

wolfie & nike - thanks so much!

she wanted me to post these. as usual, crappy quality is my fault.

this one she did a few months ago when she was experimenting with watercolor pencils.

here's the one of ed she was working on last night inspired by a t-shirt she got for Christmas.

and here's a fullmetal alchemist-inspired character she created.

OTFW, your girl is VERY talented for her age. That picture of Ed is unbelievably good.

My little niece takes after her dad who was an artist (I don't believe he does it anymore). She colored in a picture of Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh when she was 4 or 5, and it was all perfectly inside the lines, and all of the colors were correct. I was astonished. I still have it, and I'm gonna show it to her when she gets older.

Your going to hate me when I tell you... but it's actually just pencil. I draw as if I were using a pen (I figure why do something twice if I can do it perfect once and not have to ink) I've tried inking, but it never achieve's the same effect as the good old pencil. My suggestion would be to study a comic or two with the kind of ink lines you most prefer and then try to mimic that as close as possible in your own work. I have a board where I teach anime style drawing, PM me if you want to check it out okay Kat?
