Finding this ---

"We are simply seeking to bring into full realization the American dream--a dream yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; a dream of a land where men no longer argue that the color of a man's skin determines the content of his character; the dream of a land where every man will respect the dignity and worth of human personality--this is the dream. When it is realized, the jangling discords of our nation will be transformed into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood, and men everywhere will know that America is truly the land of the free and the home of the brave."
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 1962

Quaker. They believe that you follow the light within (follow your own guidance). I like the idea that there meetings are in silence, and they can be held anywhere.

I love the idea that by following your inner guidance, it means that you live a life true to yourself, and that the Religious society of friends are accepting of all humans (whether you are gay, TG or hetro).

Their testamonies are Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship. (and I believe in all of these)

Sorry not selling it, just trying to give you some insight into why I find Quaker beliefs interesting.

APE MADE MY DAY! GOD, THAT GIRL IS THE DEFINITION OF GORGEOUS!

Sometimes it's the simple things that matter most

Found a copy of H.R. Gieger's "Necronomican II" and "Alien" art books at a used book store near mint condition that were full of sketches, illustrations, paintings and behind the scenes photos of the original film. H.R. Gieger is either a certified genius or an undiagnosed mental case. Regardless, he creates breathtaking artwork to say the least.

Well I hope you didn't have that all in the one glass *wink*

Simplicity is the only way to live.

Finding the positive in a bad situation. Moving on forward and not looking back at what used to be.

I had a really good interview for a front desk position at a very nice hotel. The manager definately thought I was a great match for the opening, I even got an interview with HR about half an hour later, she was really hard to read and the decision is up to her but fingers crossed I may soon have a job. When decided to go for this job I was dreading going back to hospitality but this place seems like it doesn't have some of the problems that really bothered me at Powhatan, and it would pay fairly well so I'm pretty excited.

Rollerskating! I hadn't done that in a decade. It took me about an hour to relearn how to skate well.

It's a 3CR13 steel tomohawk with a carbon fiber glass handle. Way cooler then the grappling hook I got a week ago. Now I need to find some Muslim cinder blocks to defend my country from.

I got a surprise package today from an unknown sender. It's a bright pink strap-on. I'm flabbergasted.

Oooo interesting.

I have officially lost all of the weight I put on over the holidays! Kind of amazing how quickly it I shed the pounds as soon as the weather improved, with all the hills around here even a quick stroll to enjoy the weather and scenery makes a huge difference.

I know more men who like strap-ons than women...

@TimelessRebellion - Ulf was telling me that the legs of the Danish throne are made of unicorn horns.

Is that the actual story behind them, or is he taking the piss? :|

I know this one! Narwhal tusks were sold as unicorn horns back in the day when people believed in unicorns.

I might be writing a paper on implicit religion in unicorn narratives.

I realise that unicorns didn't exist, but I didn't quite know if he was trying to get me back for telling him about Drop Bears in Australia by making up the story or if it was something that had been floating around for a while...

Either way, he photoshopped the legs out of a picture of the throne and emailed it to me saying that not being able to see them was proof that they were made from unicorn horn, which made me LOL.

Tragically, though.. I only this moment discovered that Narwhals were really a thing, and not like unicorns. :|
