That reminds me of Frank Zappa for some reason.

Does anybody use GNU Image Manipulation Program (otherwise know as The GIMP)?

If so, I could use some pointers on a couple things.

Zappa did a song making fun of Valley Girl speak. It was called, amazingly enough:

----------------------------
VALLEY GIRL

(excerpt of lyrics)

Valley girl, She’s a valley girl, Valley girl, She’s a valley girl

Okay, fine... Fer sure, fer sure

Like, oh my god! (valley girl)
Like - totally (valley girl)
Encino is like so bitchen (valley girl)
There’s like the galleria (valley girl)
And like all these like really great shoe stores
I love going into like clothing stores and stuff
I like buy the neatest mini-skirts and stuff
It’s like so bitchen cuz like everybody’s like
Super-super nice...
It’s like so bitchen...

On ventura, there she goes
She just bought some bitchen clothes
Tosses her head ’n flips her hair
She got a whole bunch of nothin’ in there

Anyway, he goes are you into s and m?
I go, oh right...
Could you like just picture me in like a leather teddy
Yeah right, hurt me, hurt me...
I’m sure! no way!
He was like freaking me out...
He called me a beastie...
That’s cuz like he was totally blitzed
He goes like bag your face!
I’m sure!

It’s really sad (valley girl)
Like my english teacher
He’s like... (valley girl)
He’s like mr. bu-fu (valley girl)
We’re talking lord God king bu-fu (valley girl)
I am so sure
He’s like so gross
He like sits there and like plays with all his rings
And he like flirts with all the guys in the class
It’s like totally disgusting
I’m like so sure
It’s like barf me out...
Gag me with a spoon!

--------------------------

Anyway, you get the idea ... like.

The greatest pioneer of free speech and anti-censorship.

We owe most of the music we listen to to him.

I know he was the boldest rebel to ever achieve commercial success that I've ever heard of. But who couldn't love:

"Watch out were the huskies go,
and don't you eat that yellow snow!"

And Camarillo Brillo!

Dang, I just realised I need to get some CD's. Should I start with "Weasels Ripped My Flesh"?

Oh, yeah ... Joe's Garage!

That really was the ultimate anti-censorship album ... er, albums.

I'm guessing it's 2 disks in compact disk format.

-----------------------------------

I moved to Texas over 7 years ago. I left a lot of stuff in my parents basement. My Dad has been mailing it all back to me in recent weeks. Yesterday I got my record albums ... yep, LP's.

*sigh* *contented smile*

I have Led Zeppelin III - in the original album format, with the spinning wheel that changes the graphics that are displayed in the little windows.

I love the size and quality of CD's, but there is something very satisfing about opening up an album and looking at the pictures and lyrics. I have Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland" and that picture looks a lot better in its 24" x 12" glory than squeezed down to a CD jewel case.

Oh, wait. The currently available print of Electric Ladyland doesn't even have the naked women on the cover!

I saw that there was a university study on where belly button lint comes from. I'm not kidding!

The revolutionary findings? That innies tend to collect more that outies. And having a belly button ring tended to cut down the amount of lint collected significantly.

There! Now doesn't that bit of scientific research just brighten your day?

I saw that too, was great.

What the heck is up with me having to interrupt the middle of my afternoon/beginning of my evening with my Japanese class? T alk about stupid timing, I don't want to go to class in the middle of the afternoon! I like getting it over with in the morning!

i've actually been using for some time now, but sadly i can't be of any significant help. i've only used it for it's filters, nothing fancy.

If i recall, there are quite a bit of HOWTO's floating around, try googling it.

A random thought. . .

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Qi. If you know anything about it, can levitation occur if one gains enough control of Qi? . . .I'm not actually into meditation but I've heard about the idea and I thought it was interesting.

Here's the Wikipedia article on it:

I don't quite understand what that Qi is... but from what I do understand, qi is air, and you can't levitate by inflating yourself... but I'm sure I have it wrong.

By the way... Blue ring pops have to be the gothiest non-halloween candy...

So nice... reflects red, refracts blue. Baffles my mind. I don't want to eat it.

Yes, in a sense Qi is air. It means "air" and "breath" in Chinese, but I've heard that it is also a spiritual energy.

I posted pictures. They actually don't taste as good as they look. The light that reflects off them, when you put it under strong light (at least flourescent light), it turns this weird plum colour, but there are cool blue glows in it from where the light goes through. When it's not in really strong light, it's pretty much black.

I just did a rap version of "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe with my friend. Oddly enough, it worked out. Rap artists should start rapping Poe.
I have great friends.
