They taste fucking disgusting. Why would ANYONE even want one? I mean:

A) They taste like shit.
B) They make your breath smell like shit.
C) When you smoke, and try to look all cool, you look like a cheapass paedophile.
D) They screw up your lungs.
E) They cause deaths.

And I hate it when smokers are all like "Ooh look at me I think I look terribly dashing with smoke coming out of my nose like Thomas The Tankengine."

Why don't they just fuck off and jump off a cliff?

A) Ever worked the service industry? You don't get breaks if you don't smoke.
B) When you're too broke to buy food, cigarettes are a mild stimulant and help stave off hunger.
C)I've never looked like a paedophile smoking a cigarette, though maybe a cheap-ass because, admitedly, I usually don't have a lot of money, and I usually have to go in the freezing cold in a giant coat, so I'm obviously not looking "cool", but you do get to meet more people that way asking for a lighter or to bum a cigarrette.
D) Many things fuck up you lungs, but not a lot of them feel so nice (living in New Jersey, for example). Also, I started smoking cigarettes so that the niccotine buzz would distract me from drugs that I was quitting that were a lot more harmful than just cigarettes. It's worked out so far.
E) No one lives forever.

We don't fuck off and jump off a cliff because we have cigarettes to give us a slight buzz to distract us from how shit the world is.

This is true, but homegrown tobacco tastes like shit, plus it fucks up the soil if you plan on planting other shit there.

I don't smoke, but I see nothing wrong with it all. In Minnesota we have a statewide smoking ban, that means:

1: No smoking within ANY public place unless it has a separate building with it's own ventilation system, then you can smoke it there.

2: No smoking within 50 feet of a public building. Although this one is usually ignored.

And there's about three other things but I cannot remember them now. Anyways, the point I'm getting here is that, sure, smoking can lead to some health problems, but doesn't the world we live in lead to health problems? Companies dump sewage and chemical waste in lakes and rivers and pollute the air with smog and toxic gases.

Yet holier than thou dumbass anti-smoking activists spend all their time trying to get rid of something that is a pretty small fish in the sea.

Not true. I've worked in the service industry, and they -always- gave us breaks, cigs or not.

What irrational fear? Second hand smoke can cause some serious problems.

I, personally, don't mind people who smoke as long as I'm not in an enclosed environment with them (since I'm allergic I can't handle too much or else I get a migraine). I also can't be in someones home or car if they frequently smoke there so I get people having a strong dislike of second hand smoke, especially since I know there are many people who have a much stronger reaction.

If I'm near cigarette smoke for any length of time, my sinuses go completely haywire, and I end up having to make sounds that I've been told are impossible for other people to make.

As a teen, I both had asthma AND was allergic to cig smoke...but my parents kept the habit up anyways, and then yelled at ME when I couldn't control my sinuses. Nearly all sinus medicine they had back then made me incredibly drowsy, so there was no way I could just pop a pill and go to school; I wouldn't have been able to stay awake. [God, I wish they had had Claritin in the early '90s. -_-;;; ]

Then, many years later, my dad developed emphazyma from all the cigs he'd smoked. So yeah, my general annoyance and distaste for the stuff is pretty well justified, thanks.

To put it mildly, it's idiotic to pick up such an atrocious and potentially harmful habit over taking actual medicine.

I have to wonder if you've a.) Grown out of your asthma, or b.) Never had it very seriously.

Me personally, I rarely have problems with asthma now, but I -do- have some pretty screwed-up sinuses. Growing up in a smoky environment didn't really help that. :/
