I used to wear glasses. Now I wear contacts. I hate glasses, they get dirty, get in the way and I like the look of me better, too.
Im really not sure what kind of style you like. Id probably take simple silver or black ones myself, with a thin frame.

I still wear glasses though I really don't like them. I wish I had contacts.

I love my glasses. I've had contacts, but they're just a hassle. I'd rather have glasses or corrective eye surgery.

I wear simple, black, cat-eye glasses. I bought them with transition lenses, so the lens turns dark in the sun. I usually wear contacts when I go to a show or event, but I enjoy my specs as well.
There's no reason glasses can't accompany the Goth look. Just be creative with them. You could search around online for an interesting frame, then take them to a store like LensCrafters and have them put in your lens.

I wear a pair of slightly nerdy/emo glasses that stop me from getting eyestrain when I'm reading, doing close-up stuff, etc.:

They're nice and chunky, and they go pretty well with just about everything I wear. They help conceal my eyes when I've gone to bed far too late and got up way too early, so I quite often wear them just for the look. :3

I only wear glasses for reading, but seeming as it runs in my family I will be doomed with them for just seeing. I am going to get a nice pair of chunky black frams. Cat eye shaped or like the dude's from Motion City Soundtrack.

I'm always wearing glasses.
I simply can't wear contacts. I just can't put them on.
Anyway, as I've accepted I have to wear them, I take them as another accessory, and as so, I try to find glasses that fit me.
For me, I think the style of glasses that fits me are the ones as least noticeable as possible. The thinner and more transparent the frame, the better.

I wear glasses, and I like them.
Especially the "Government/Three Letter Acronym" type glasses. That kind that's like... You know. Agent-Smithy... Even though he didn't wear glasses.

I used to wear glasses, but due to the shape of my nose they ALWAYS slip down. It even prevents me from wearing most sunglasses. So I've been wearing contacts for five years now, and I don't mind them too much. I do plan to get corrective surgery one day though.
I still have a pair of glasses for when I can't put my contacts in (eg. when I get chili in my eyes or am just too lazy), but they look awful and require me to have my hand ready at all times to slide them back up to the top of my nose again. It's a hassle far worse than puting contacts in every morning.

I have new glasses that are black and thin framed-think some tough plastic material. They are sorta rextangular but the ends are odd shapped and have sparklies. ^.^ Sparkly glasses.

I don't wear them, though I need them. I'd prefer to have contacts, though, but I can tolerate glasses.

I think girls in glasses are cute if they are the right kind of glasses. Sleek and modern. Glasses can be a real turn on for some.

I'd send a picture of mine, but only pics I got are from my cell and therefore--bad quality.

Glasses.
Arc welding and contact lenses don't mix. (the intense UV light can melt the contact lenses, causing them to bond with the cornea)

Possibly.
We tested it on an oiled metal surface. The plastic lens did stick to the surface somewhat.

Even if it -is- an urban legend... Not knowing for sure, I personally wouldn't risk it. You don't want to become like the one eyed smiley...

Metal conducts heat very well though, compared with your eye which, being mostly water, wouldn't really allow the lens to get above 100 degrees, which it would need to pass to get to melting temperatures. Oiled metal is the basic component of a frying pan. But still, without actually trying it out, I'm just guessing... You could try getting a sheep's eyeball from a butcher and conducting the experiment on that.

Still any heat towards the 100 degree mark would hurt because most contacts are made of that soft plastic/latex kind of material. They tear and melt extremely easy. I think that would be a good myth to send to mythbusters.

Does Mythbusters have a website so you can ask these questions? I'd send it in right now if they do.

This is the only place I could find that you could ask about it. It might not get answered though.

Phrased as...
If you were to wear contact lenses while arc welding, would the UV light melt the contacts causing them to bond with the cornea?

I don't think it will if Snopes is right.
